More precisely, NOS. This is a Zenith Port Royal containing the Zenith/Martel 2562 manual wind movement. The watch was probably made in the late 1990's or early 2000's. The box is from the same era. The lining of the box is in excellent condition, but is delicate due to its age. The 2562 movements were made by Zenith in the 1970's. To me these are the personification of the simple three hand dress watch. As a Zenith collector, I love the older Zenith star logo that is displayed on the dial of many of their most iconic watches. This is the third of the Zenith Port Royal Heritage series of watches that I have, and Im grateful that I was able to find this one. Zenith has such a rich heritage, and it seems not allot of people are that familiar with the brand. I was thinking of putting together a summarized history of the brand, if anyone is interested. Here's a few photos...:cool1:

Some are, some aren't. Most of our Zenith owners are busy on other sites. I happened to discover Zenith around the same time Rolex stopped buying Zenith's El Primero chronograph movement and developed their caliber 4130 which was unveiled at BaselWorld 2000. But I digress...

Work up that history. I'm sure a ton of our newer members (and lurkers) would appreciate it! :thumbup1:

I particularly like the oval-dialed models, also from the '70s.

Oval watches were quite popular in the 70's/80's. Of all the oval watches I've seen, I think I like the Rolex Cellini models the best.

Actually I've seen a few reasonably priced vintage Zenith watches on the web that looked quite nice. From a collectors view point however, the big issue is authenticity.

I would love to see what you come up with for our history lesson. I wanted a Zenith for quite some time and finally purchased: View attachment 146513
That's one of their recent pieces, and it's a really nice one to be sure! That particular model has done very well for Zenith. Congratulations on the watch, and thanks for posting. :001_smile:
