Man I feel like a real red neck, dont have a jubilee band on my Sub., but I use Dawn dishwashing soap on a "soft" toothbrush and scrub it well, and then rinse with the sprayer thing on the sink. If its really grubby I will soak it for a few hours in a soultion of Dawn and water.
I guess the ******** are on the right track. You basically need a good detergent to cut the grease and then brush or rinse the dirt away.

Everybody has their favorite formula. At work, all the watches and jewelry are cleaned with powdered Tide and a generous splash of ammonia. Whether in the ultrasonic or by hand, this is what we use. We never put a cased movement in the ultrasonic.

Some of the jubilee bracelets are so filthy that we must give them several cycles in the ultrasonic. We also use a commercial steamer to blow out the dirt that hides where you can't reach with a brush and won't rinse away.

I would be afraid the ultrasonic waves may harm the watch movement.
It's sort of ironic. These watches are built to withstand the depths of the ocean but can't handle 4" of ultrasound water.

I use WD40 !!!

I've been cleaning my Sub Oyster bracelet for years ... using a WD40 spray in a small amount and a smooth tooth brush. I start by spraying the brush and then use it to clean all parts of the bracelet.( I prefer not to spray on the watch itself ).. Then I use warm water & liquid soap with the brush to clean it up.. After rinsing with water I dry it with a cotton/micro fiber cloth.. Now your Rolex will look new.. WD40 lubricates the bracelet without accumulating grime on the bracelet or harming the metal (Steel or Gold) of the watch and from my experience It won't harm the crystal or O-rings as well..

[Notice] I use the same procedure to clean my Victorinox Awiss Army Knife.
