Arguably da best performing:

- non-tourbillon

- European

- mechanical

- wristwatch

- as confirmed by multiple independent testing facilities

is da Tissot with advanced 2824 calibre ETA werks.

I'd say the Omega 551/561/564 calibers are the best mass produced movements ever made. I own several that make my VC look like a cheap TV watch in the accuracy department. One or two can give a quartz watch a run for the money.

I've now had two ETA 2892-A2 pieces that were incredibly consistent also. My old Tiffany's Mark Coupe was fantastic, and my current IWC Portifino is amazingly stable.

Omega chose not to participate at da Councours Chronometrie 2011 where da Tissot distinguished itself. Perhaps as well since da failure rate [DNF] was so pervasive.
