All Omega watches of recent manufacture have a barrel clutch to prevent over-winding.

If you listen carefully while winding it slowly, you can hear the occasional 'click' inside as the clutch moves...

I don't know how long ago this was installed, but it has been many years now...

:)

Mr Drvai,

if you are wearing the watch daily maybe a once a week "top off" might not be out of the question. I'd get some place quiet and count about how many turns it takes to hear the click. that should give you an idea how well you are keeping it wound with just your regular routine.. an idea:thumbup1:

also, my watchmaker says it doesen't hurt to run the watch down a bit occasionally..

my 2.31 centavos...

Thank to all.

I did that and I can now hear the click. I just was too afraid of over winding it, so I stopped before the reserve was full.

But anyway, the reserve lasts for 48 hours. Is this Ok?

A 48 power reserve is very good and exactly what to expect for the PO.

The PO chronograph has a 52 hr PR............:thumbup1:

One of the indicators of a watch that will need service soon is when the power reserve starts to decline..
