Hi, I am increasingly drawn to Elgin and Hamilton watches but choice in the uk and here in spain is very limited.
For this reason I want to purchase in the U.S but have no idea where to look apart from Ebay.
I like rectangular cases and as thin as possible. Correct me if I am wrong but Elgin may fit the bill more than Hamilton.
I am not bothered about the year of the watch although it must look "Art Deco" in design.
Would any of you guys please be able to point me in the right direction for dealers who specialise in these models and who can be trusted and who would not ask stupid money. Thanks Jack

If you look in our sales forum you will nearly always see a contant flow of Hamiltons for sale. Becareful on eBay because there is a lot of franken watches knocking about.

Also if you are looking at rectangular cases then also consider Gruen, they have some wonderful watches with veri-thin movements.

Europe has a poor supply of American watches for sale, and those that do come up tend to be in poor condition. I managed to find this one locally at an auction in Dublin but they are a rarity for sale on Irish markets.

The heyday of art deco design was the 1930's. Here are some square/rectangular Hamilton models from Will Roseman's site.

Check in on A Trebor's Vintage Watches, » Trebor’s vintage watch collection , from time to time. They usually have a lot of what you're looking for. Another possibility is Internat'l Dial. They always have a couple of watches for sale. In fact, that's where I found my waffle-dial Longines!

Hi Valtyr,

Nice selection, late model alarm x 2, the 3 (wow) Barklays/spiders are nice indeed!

Although you seem to need a Pan Am.
