So We've done the 'how many are in your collection' polls, but how many do you want to have in your collection? I've currently got about 20, but many times I think of culling that down to maybe 5 carefully selected models so I can really enjoy those 5. But then again, I enjoy the variety of choice. But with the variety, I don't get to enjoy some as often. It's a vicious circle...

So - forgetting how many you may have at the moment, where would you like your collection to be, and why?

I suppose that I'm not really a watch collector, but rather a watch accumulator who likes to read, research, and analyze the topic.

I have 15 now and have no interest in selling or trading, as though anyone but me would be interested in the watches I have.

Nonetheless, every watch has its own little story behind it that gives it a sentimental value that its intrinsic value could never match.

I like having a display on my dresser. I change watches as often as I change clothes. My 11th just came last week which would've overfilled the box, but my wife got me a quad winder:thumbup:, so at least 1 more auto, 1 mechanical, and 1 quartz, then it'll be decision time: trade, less watches, or more boxes...

I now have 19 with 16 on display in winders or display cases.The remaining 3 were mistakes when I started to collect.They were for work only wear.Now all my watches from the Tags to Invicta's are for all occasions work or fun.As for how many I want
I have no idea.There are no set amount or manufacturer.My collecting will slow down
as the watches in most cases that I want cost more and more.

I have close to 50. This is after culling a half dozen or so.
I have given some away to family members, and I still have around 50.

I own five but am looking to go up to ten or twelve eventually. I figure a couple of divers, couple of dress watches, and a few non traditional designs should suit me fine. Even though I'm an Invicta collector, I've managed to refrain from the "flavor of the month" collector's mentality. I've been very satisfied with my current collection and haven't found myself "wanting" for the next watch fix within the last month or so.

I seem to flucuate around 6-10 watches usually. Right now I'm at an all time low as I've began buying more expensive pieces... I believe I have 6 now, with 7 coming tomorrow. When I get more than 10, I sell off because there are 1-2 that aren't getting worn.

I voted 6-12. I have over 12 but only wear probably 7 or 9 on a regular basis. I would like to sell a few, but I hate to part with a watch for so little money.

My 17th came today (EL). There are several more that I really want, but there are some that I currently have that I could live without. If I could pick out and afford every one on my wish list, I would say roughly 10; then I could wear all of them every week or so. I'm guessing I'll have three times that within a year or so though. :lol:

I'm satisfied with just a few. My problem is when I get a new watch the others just sit there and look sad. I've had quite a few at one time or another, but found myself selling them. Right now I have 4, with one up for sale on the bay. I guess I'm the kind of person who wants one or two I love rather than a drawer full of never-wear watches.

I voted 6-12 which is about a third of my collection,but after voting I thought of twenty or so that I would never sell.

I'm probably a 6 to 12 guy. I have 3 now and am planning for a few more.

Gshock (need a stop watch for another hobby and it'll get beat)
Probably two more in there that I haven't planned for.

I don't see myself needing anymore then that. Once I reach this point, I will trade or replace them.

I have 5 now and want to add a diver sometime this year. I don't see myself having more than 8-10 ever but if I keep hanging around here you never know what could happen.
