Hi everyone,
I hope I can beg Rusty's indulgence if my question crosses boundaries.
I find myself needing to re-prioritize my collection (in other words, I need to sell stuff because I need money), and I am having a hard time figuring out if there is any interest for what I have and what people would consider fair pricing. I have monitored this and other forums, checked eBay, and it's just too difficult to pin down. So, I would like to put it to the group. What would you consider a fair asking price for the following items:
1) standard Hamilton Ventura (current model, original face design), the deployment buckle, original collectors box and paperwork. It's in LNIB condition.
2) Hamilton Piping Rock, the first re-issue, with the words :"registered edition" and a number on the back. It's in gold plate, with Swiss Quarts, the watch has definitely been worn. The crystal has a tiny imperfection in it near where the small, second hand dial is located. There are myriad of tiny, tiny scratches and dings in the case. There are also a few spots on the back where it seems a careless person tried to pry open the case to change the battery, and the case back is engraved "Ken" in script and has a scar right near where the lip is to open it. Now, I know that all sounds like this has been thrown under a bus, but really, it's just well used, and is still more than beautiful enough to be worn and admired. Almost forgot, it needs a new battery.
Any information anyone can give about fair pricing for these items would be appreciated. I don't want this post to seem like a thinly veiled attempt to sell without posting a price. So, whether the advice I receive comes through the thread or in a PM, I will take all the input I get, and then post an ad in the sales section for these items.
Hope this sounds acceptable and that you all can help me.
Thanks!
