This display case was part of a recent eBay purchase. The reference to 'microsonic' is somthing I have not seen before. A Google search suggests microsonic was an advertising description of the hum the newly introduced 214 movement emitted. I found the earliest reference to be an October 25, 1960 article that stated "First insturment of the space age you can wear and use! First microsonic timepiece...It doesn't even tick. It hums!" Any additional infromation from members will be appreciated.

Seems I missed an important detail! I was viewing the pic on a very small screen. Lol The reference to "Microsonic Timepiece" does make that box a very early one. That description was only used for a short time when Acctrons were first released. It is appropriate for an "M0" date Accutron and perhaps an "M1" date. Don't think so for later dates. See my version below. I bought the box before the watch!

Thanks for the reply. I think you are correct as to how long the tag line 'microsonic' was used. I did find some news paper advertisements that used the term, one for 1962 and one for 1963. your picture, by the way, is great!:001_wub:

Wow, great detective work! I am surprised they referred to them as such as late is 1963 but I guess that was still early enough after release.
