On my Invictas, I'll go as far as sizing the bracelets. I even repaired the belzel on my Vostok. But that's about as far as I'll go. I did however, try to repair my Alpha Sub a couple of times, even popped the hood (and the second time doing that I decided I was really good at re-sizing bracelets!)

Wind, clean, and resize bracelets is about all I'll do. Last year I removed/replaced the insert on my 8926 to properly align it and I managed to not only permanently adhere it but also made sure the bezel never moved from 12 o'clock. At least everything is properly aligned...

I could probably get up to the point of changing a bezel or insert... but if the watch is totally dead and I dont want it anymore, I have pulled it apart before to see how things work - so I am not shy about doing things like that. With the proper tools, sure I will adjust the timing on the watch myself too - but I have not at this point yet - have not had a watch that was THAT out of synch yet.
