I like the juxtaposing of auto and car, but >>>

I would also like the watch (which I take to be the main item in the pic) to be in sharp focus. Only your shirt and sweater cuff are critically sharp. IMO, the pic would be better if the watch dial was the critically sharp item and all else ended up wherever they fell on the sharpness scale.

Good creative effort that only needs a bit more to be an arresting picture. :001_smile:

Beamon, I agree- re the focus. The dial should always be the most infocus element of a watch shot. My camera was just having a hard time- need to go back to something with manual focus rather then this little point and shoot job. Might have to go back wearing a tux for a proper cuff shot!

Hey Alex

If you point your point and shoot at your watch and take a partial reading, will it not focus primarily on the dial thus achieving the effect you wish? Or in fact, if you had manual controls on your P&S ( some cameras have this in the menu ), you may be able to achieve this by narrowing your depth of field. Just a thought. A Canon G9 for instance has several features you'll find on a dSLR.

Be well pal

One trick you could try is to first frame the picture with the watch dead center. This will help ensure that your subject is in proper focus and exposure. Then without letting go of the trigger, reframe the picture with the watch a little lower. then shoot. I do this alot with my digital rebel with the focus set on center instead of evaluative.

Don't do that, Alex. You'll shame the rest of us in our tees and jeans! :001_tongue:
