One thing I would do is set the UTC window so it always showed GMT. Since it is a wheel, it can just be installed and positioned so that GMT (or O+UTC or ZULU ...all the same thing) show contantly in that window.

And then the watch would have three zones...home, local, and true UTC.

Little idiosyncrasies that I'm noticing that become large for myself just as the CB.

But I think I like the pre-production version more.

Here is what I like with this pre-production model pictured:

The overall balance of the wording above the 6.

Chronometer
UNIVERSAL TIME COORDINATED
AUTOMATIC
50 METERS

Next I really like the contrast of the silver starburst shimmering dial versus this production flat white dial.

Next I also notice on the rose/pink gold that there is accented brushed finish on the casing lugs versus the bezel. The production model appears to be all polished.

What I do like on the current production model is the UTC numbers converted from Arial to Times New Roman. That is indeed a nice touch! :thumbup1:

Can the UMT be set independant of the hour hand? If it works, then this is great.

The UMT is tied to the main hour hand...it is not settable seperately. The watch is a two time zone watch which also displays the main time in the miilitary window as well.

Here is my crazy idea from a few months back. Of course we'd have to make one hand shorter, one longer ,etc...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let me start out by saying how much I like this watch. But I really would like it to be a true GMT/UTC, but the UTC window is linked to the main hand, and the second zone does not operate on a 24 hour scale, thus a dual time, but can it be more?

So, as it stands, I would describe this model as a dual time with a military display linked to the main hour hand. Technically, as it stands, we can't define the top window as a UTC as it is linked to the main hour hand.

And now, the idea. What if Ball would use the main time hand as the secondary zone as it is linked to the Military Window. So this hand would now be red. It would also work in conjunction with the Military window, achieving a true UTC/GMT function.

The hand that currently is used as a the second time zone, the "red hand," would now be painted green.

And there you have it...we have just made the Cleveland Express a true UTC/GMT without having to change the design at all...just flip flop the hour hands, and reverse their sizes.

No Photoshop!

I've read and seen how great it is! I'm still just using MS Paint!

I will definitely spring for the program. There are even a few Web pages that I signed up for that have Jewelry/Watch creation 3D design! But I'll stick to photoshop as it's really practical for improving pictures already taken of watches.

I can do web design, but someone else does the photoshop stuff. I envy folks who can do that. I am more like a techie I guess.

Cleveland Express Dualtime

I am holding the watch in my hand and just to make it very clear...

It is a dual time watch.. regular time with the black hands and a second time zone with the red hands. The window on the watch shows military time. Under this military time window there is a small triangle cutout which turns red in color when you should not change the date.

It is a very nicely done timepeice.
