Has anyone purchased and used the timing machines on ebay that sell for around $200? They all look the same, some from China and some from the US. I'm a novice and just looking for some advice on buying one and looking for feedback on any features I should look out for.

I haven't tried one of those, but try and find yourself the flux capacitor. Pretty sure it's the best

The folks I've seen who have them seem to like them.

With that said, for $200 my preference would be an old paper tape machine.

If you could go up to about $300 you may want to google around for a TYMC model. I think that is the minimum standard to go for a timing machine.

All you need is a Machine to analyse the movement.
You only need a few information.
Rate, Amplitude, Beat error.
Are you using it to time your mov't?
If yes, I can help you set one up for $30 using your laptop.

I very much enjoy mine, which I found on ebay for +/- $300 if I remember correctly...

I have the "Watch Expert" 5000, been using this one for about a year now.

Have not put my Rolex Datejust on the machine for awhile now, still nearly perfect!
