Trying to change out band on a new watch. I have released the pin on one side and tried to move it to clear the lug but it doesn't budge. The gold bracelet still has the plastic and I want to preserve the virgin state of it if possible.

Find a local mall and one of those watch repair kiosks. Spend the $5 - $10 and let them do it with the proper tool.

I had my watchmaker take it off for 5. He had to take it apart in order to do it though. This Longines lug dimensions are not a true 22 or 21mm.
