One year ago I had open heart surgery. I got 2 mechanical heart valves, a single bypass and my heart muscle trimmed ( it was too thick). A present from my father you might say. Two days later I got a defibrillator and pacemaker. Recovery took 8 weeks. When I came home after 10 days I could not get out of a chair or bed without help. I went to my niece's wedding on Jun 2nd and we celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary June 30th. I was driving after 6 weeks and pretty much cut loose after 8 weeks. I'm on coumadin for life but I feel great and can do things I did 20 years ago.
