Firstly, let me welcome you to WTF and the Rolex Forum!

Secondly, thanks for the awesome link!!! I've been wearing my Daytona with a suit for YEARS and had to laugh that it is now considered very "chic" or in style.

Thanks again!

I heard that "Timex is doing some cool stuff" if that's your style. Timex/Rolex, same thing...it's a watch, right? Hmm, I'm considering a ten thousand dollar watch...or maybe...a leather bracelet. Which one do you think I should get. If I get the bracelet I'm on the hook for re-furbishing every five years and I have to send it into that French company that makes them.:T

I guess my point is that if you're going for the bling then get the cuff links and the Timex. (or the pearl, that's nice too). I just don't think that you can compare all that stuff with the Cosmograph.

If you want a high quality timepiece that will last you the rest of your life, get the Daytona.

Hey John...that's a great picture. I know traditionalists frown on wearing sports models with suits...but the white face with the blue suit looks fantastic. I love wearing my GMT-II and Sea-Dweller with my suits, and my wife, who is very frank and tells me honestly whether something looks good together or not, really likes the look. Now, all I need to do is talk her into letting me get a BMW so that I can take a picture like you did!!!!

I think the Daytona is dressy enough to be worn with a suit, even though it's a sport model. It looks great in fact. Hell, I think the GMT IIc is dressy enough!

J-Bat, I agree with you. I admit I don't like my two-tone GMT-IIc with EVERY suit that I have...but there's certain suit/shirt combinations that it really pops with. I have a dark grey suit with a brick red shirt, which is a combo that works VERY well for me if I want to wear yellow gold jewlery. Nice to know I can fall back on that outfit if I'm dressing up and I want to wear gold...seeing as how typically stainless steel or white gold works much better for me.

I agree 110% The Daytona looks great with a white dress shirt. :001_wub:

I've been known to wear my SD with a suit too...though less often than my TT Sub, Yachty, and Daytona.

John...
I'm a big fan of my Sea-Dweller with a suit. There's just something fantastic about that watch that I could wear it with a bathing suit or with a tuxedo and it would still look wonderful and by no means even close to being out of place with either. Of course, I have a certain affinity for the watch anyway, one because it was my very first Rolex, and two because, well...I hate to brag...but I can pull off the James Bond look quite well lol

i'm kind of old fashioned - and old, too. i believe chronographs are sport watches no matter what they cost. to me, a dress watch is most appropriate with a suit and tie.
that said, i do break the rule a couple times a month (LOL!)
i'm not a gentleman - i only play one on TV

All of these look good with a white shirt, i only ever wear white shirts with a suit, i don't know why!
The dark blue (company uniform) shirt that i wear on the shop floor at work looks great with all of my watches too. Notice i said that my shirt looks good with the Rolex, not the other way round!
