There is a "Coffin Link Band" and there is a "Cushion Coffin Case"

Shown is an "N3" 2182 in an unusual asymmetrical case with brown Tiger Eye dial. While I am generally not looking for any more 218s at this time, two have caught my eye. This one plus the blue dialed tonneau 2180. Case designs that are a little unusual and, perhaps, less sought after attract my attention. A service and polish will restore this model to its full glory. Hope you enjoy.

Shown is an "N3" 2183 in an unusual asymmetrical case with brown Tiger Eye dial. While I am generally not looking for any more 218s at this time, two have caught my eye. This one plus the blue dialed tonneau 2180. Case designs that are a little unusual and, perhaps, less sought after attract my attention. I noticed that watch in a scan of the bay listings this afternoon, considered acting on it (I
assume your reference to "2183" is a typo there) but was also looking at two other watch's that I eventually was high bidder on and forgot about the "Cushion Coffin Case", although
the dial is very attractive.... Glad to see you acquired it, Oliver :thumbup1:

I have a 2182, N3 with roman numerals on a light gold dial in a gold plated version of that
case... It has a trimmed to fit the lug spacing, 20mm, light brown Gilden Ostrich Grain strap
attached; looks sharp on the wrist... :cool1:

I really do not need any more watches for a while, at least several months...:crying:
Yep, typo. Added one too many.corrected!

Post a pic here of your watch. Sounds beautiful! I have notched a couple bands myself for both my Accutrons and Soviet/Russian watches. Helps the look of the watch when the lug spacing is narrow for the case size and the lug surfaces are wide.
I haven't looked into posting pix here even though back years ago, I was known as a photographer of sorts, stringer with AP & UPI, was even published in the old Life Mag...

I have pro digital gear but haven't pulled a trigger in months. Use Picasa to edit &
store snaps but as stated, no recent action. Guess I better charge up the battery's
and exercise the shutters. :001_rolleyes:
I you go to "Edit Post" then select "Go Advanced", at the top you will see the option to delete the post. No need to actually state a reason. Took me a while to discover how to delete duplicates.

With your professional background, I would love to see some pics. I use Photobucket to host my photos I wish to share on forums.
Mission Delete accomplished, thank you very much...

I'll look into posting some of my horological pieces... :confused1:
I hope the strap is a trimmed over-sized one...

With the concealed lug design of that case, it is the perfect candidate for this application.
The regular 11/16th Accutron is just a bit undersized, that's why I put a trimmed 20mm
strap on my similar GP case.

Pix?
