The first time I noticed a named watch or jewelery company putting its' name onto a clock in a car was I think back in the 70s when if I recall correctly, Cartier was on the clocks of the Lincoln Continental. I know currently the BBB is on the dashboard of a Bentley. What car do you think the symbol of Omega should be carried in pals?

Given Omega's more subtle quality approach, you'd need a car of true quality and presence that wasn't loud and flashy. It need not be in the entire range of the cars by a given manufacturer of course.

This should be fun.

So whatcha think pals?

How about NASA's EVA buggy's.

An Omega clock would be the only one to pass the rigourous tests required.

Seriously though, I had the immense pleasure of looking closely at the new Jaguar XF the other day. It is a thing of immense beauty yet is incredibly practical and well built. The attention to detail is phenomenal. Yet the thing that surprised me most is the realistic price tag. Many things that are reflected in an Omega watch.

I think an analogue Omega clock would have fitted in quite nicely in the dash of the XF. Say something with the classic DeVille numbers and Broad Arrow hands.

Well guys

I was thinking high end Audi. I know Fergie has made the case for the automotive equivalent of Omegas to be Mercs before but I rather think of the Audi as a more subtle presentation. Either would be just the ticket though I imagine.

I was thinking BMW 5 series. Really any BMW will do. There are high end Omegas and medium Omegas, but no low end Omegas just as there are high end BMWs and medium BMWs, but no low end BMWs. Since I have and enjoy both it seems a perfect fit to me.

Hi there Hal

Having had my wallet bitten by BMW ownership :eek:hmy: I had rather shunned them for a number of years. Now of course my bank account is raided periodically by my Merc :001_rolleyes:

The new, redesigned series 3 to 7 are very nice indeed. Can't imagine we'll see an Omega in a high end Lexus. I wonder if Omega had marketed themselves in the direction of cars. Hey, it just occurred to me they'll have to be quartz.....:lol::lol: I have no problem with these as you may know.

Have a nice day now :001_smile:

I'd go with that Zin. I love the current Audi range (Except the A2). They are not too flashy, well built, drive like a dream (based soley on my experience of driving an A8 2.8 across Northern Ireland). When most people think of a nice car, BMW or Mercedes almost always starts off the list. Kind of like when most people think of a nice watch, they automatically think Rolex without knowing about or considering other makes.

As for the Vauxhall Omega. They are nice cars. They drive well, go like stink for a large car and of course my father has one :001_smile:

Then in the early 90's, there was the 180mph Vauxhall Lotus Carlton, aka Opel Lotus Omega in Europe.

Again, not too flashy. Just looked and acted like a car on steroids!!

I kind of think I can see it in a Merc. Very classy, well built, prestigeous and not priced too high as say a Bently, Porsche or Ferrari. Not to mention these later brands are also much more flashy and also not as practical as the Merc, just like Omega. :)

Yes, my vote is for the Merc C class. A great car and a great watch combined. Really, Mercedes should have been onto this years ago! :001_smile:

I think Mercedes are in bed with Tag Heuer, Johnno.

You're right though. They would have been better off with Omega.

Of course that just my opinion. I'm sure Tag Heuer pay people to look at the demographic of people who buy nice watches and Mercedes.

The two perfect cars for my Speedy Pro are the Audi R8 and S8
:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

... though I must say I've always had a soft spot for a Lincoln Continental Town Car.

It's not too late for Mercedes to change is it? And as a special sorry for taking so long to get it right they can give everyone on WTF Omega a free Omega (or Mercedes). Go on Mercedes, I dare you.
