While Hamilton based in Amercia was on its way out when the first Super Bowl occurred, it did advertise its products around football. This is a 1948 ad from the venerable Saturday Evening Post.

What is interesting about this ad is how they dressed for the game. I attended the 4th game of the "63 World Series (Dodgers vs Yankees) when I was 10 and got to get a new sports coat and tie! No way you'd see a 10 year old dress like that to go to any game!

I may be mistaken, but is that garment worn around the neck of the gentleman farthest to the left called a bow tie?

Why, what an exquisite relic of the olden times!!! I don't believe I've ever seen one in person. Perhaps I'll encounter one on a future visit to a museum...
