I just picked up my new Speedway II tonight from the postal outlet, I think I got a decent deal on this one for 155.00

It is the Swiss Version 3415

I wasn't as blown away with this watch like I was the 4469, but overall, I am happy with this purchase, and for what I paid, I cant complain at all, it will make a nice everyday watch that I wont be as worried about!

If I wasn't using the 4469 as a benchmark, I would be saying what a great watch this is as well! haha and it is indeed a great watch, but I guess its like many things, once you get something really good its hard to top it...

So... with that said... there is a nice Sub Aqua III out there with my name on it somewhere down the road! I am sure when I open the box on it, I will be blown away! haha or at least lets hope so!

Another question, I know on a Chronograph the second hand is supposed to be used as a stop watch, just wondering in the rules of watch land if its cool to have the second hand running at all times... or should it always be in the 12 o'clock position???? I synched it with the second hand in the sub dial... so now its ticking off seconds, minutes and hours using the chronograph function.

The Speedway II, I would score an 8 out of 10! The bracelet and clasp do not feel as nice as the 4469 and the watch makes some noise on the wrist with metal on metal clanging... will have to see if I can stop that!

I am guessing its a quartz. If it is then you are wasting the battery. Don't use the second hand unless you have to.

The cool thing is to have it synched up at 12.

Congrats! Pics please, I'm looking into a Speedway II myself. "Metal on metal clanging"? Do you mean the bracelet feels losely put together? (Big decision coming for me, I need some details!)

As far as having the seconds hand running constantly, it's fine but it will run down your battery quicker.

Enjoy!

Scott, congrats. Please post pics:thumbup: As far as running the seconds hand, I'm not so sure it's going to run your battery down any quicker than if you weren't. I've read somewhere that it does NOT drain the battery more when doing so. But if you asked me for a specific source, I can't provide you with one. At least not at the midnite hour:D

Using the Chronoghraph feature will drain the battery quicker. Below is a link and one of the questions answers this situation.

I figured that it likely would drain the batter, afterall, the power has to drive 3 more hands! So that power will come from somewhere.

I will get some pics at some point today and post them tonight.

The metal on metal sound is probably coming from where the bracelet joins the lugs. I like to wear my watches loose enough so they move a little on my wrist, and I think if it was snugged up a bit that would eliminate the problem.

The bracelet again is nice, with solid center links, but not as beefy as the 4469, so it doesnt have the "quality" feel to it, other than that, its a nice looking watch.
