Hi

Almost all of the Illinois wristwatches came with black enamel in the engraving on the cases. If you have someone that can restore the enamel it really makes the watch more striking.

Greg did Jesse perform the enamel replacement on this NYer ?

Thanks

Attached is a white Hamilton Oval that I recently re-enameled. To me the most important thing to make it look decent is to do the job with the crystal removed... to avoid getting paint under the glass. Once I learned about black gloss Testors hobby paint markers, it made this process of laying the paint into the grooves and then wiping off the excess much easier.

Jesse says to me, "Oh by the way I re-enameled those NY'ers for you!"

You know, I wasn't keen on subseconds at 9 watches, but I'm liking these! I think it goes well with the wider-than-long look.

Oh, yeah - and the engraving with the enamel is to die for.

Agree these are both awesome examples of the Enamel NYers with great cases and dials. They are also very rare and difficult come by.

Thanks
