One of my Favorite sections of Fred Friedberg's incredible book:
"The Illinois Watch, The Life and Times of a Great American Watch Company"
Is called "Fantastic Finds"

Fred Gathered stories from Illinois collectors all over the country,
and their incredible purchases, for incredible prices.

In honor of Esrange and his fantastic Marquis score
(For a whopping $30!!!)

I thought I would take the Marquis out for a walk.

Group shot:

A rare set of TT's
One with Yellow Gold top and bottom
One with White Gold top and bottom
(Sub 9's)

Hard to find with Yellow on the bezel and caseback, Matching Serial #'s

(Sub 9 Silvered sub area)

(Sub 9 Plain sub area)

The rarely seen "No Subs"

And Finally... One of 2 known examples (Rick has the other)
(Sub at 6)

Congrats Esrange:thumbup:

Awesome watches!

But that sub at 6 looks familiar for some reason, like I've seen one before

Esrange

I would love to hear about your Fantastic Find. Needless to say 30 bucks for a Marquis is an awesome deal .

Congrats!
