I emailed Curtis at 2 different emails no response at all, and it was about buying another watch that they have with my deposit on the old Ballcall Cumlus.
He hasn't been on this website in months, getting no responses from communication from Facebook and twitter is silent too.
This has all the hallmarks of a business going out of business. I am wondering if this new watch line bankrupted him, and he is scaling down now, he just won't tell anybody.

Other watch forums are saying the same about the service.

Does anybody know ?

In the past Curtis always answered my emails within 24 hours.

"We are still working to get the samples ready. The final product may not be ready till next year".

The fact he responds to a potential customer while ignoring someone who's already paid him money should send up HUGE red flags. Stay away, watchkiller...sage advice from someone who learned the hard way.

Man, phoned twice no answer, emailed three times, 2 different addresses no response.
Really bad PR, too bad too, I own 2 Stolas watches, it's like Curtis doesn't really care anymore.
That's a real change from the past, my emails were always answered with 24 hours, and I phoned him a couple times and actually talked to him.

I really don't understand why he wouldn't respond I actually wanted to give him more money and use my deposit for another watch.
Looking at another forums posts I see the same thing happening across the boards.

Facebook comments are not that positive either.

The latest news I had was from October 1st. Curtis Stolaas was trying to re-establish contact with some suppliers. And this was according to one of his own (rare) Facebook posts, so use your own judgement and read into it what you will. As of today, the only thing I know for sure is that nobody knows anything!

Edit: I don't have anything ordered...I just thought I'd pass along what I'd heard.

I would escalate the issue to the Better Business Bureau or file a suit to get my money back.

Ouch, I'm sorry to hear that. Although, I've never bought one of their watches, I've occasionally checked out their collection to see if anything cool and colourful got released.

The ship is going down, and the captain is taking your money with him. Previously honourable business people can turn really sour once their business flops, I've been scammed on eBay by a 100% (230) and 99.5% (2990). Was lucky to get my money back both times by opening a paypal dispute. Though I take it that too much time has elapsed here?

Waaaay too much time. Roughly 2 years now. He's been MIA for 3 months; don't expect we'll ever see any refund. Hopefully, they're completely out of business.

This is an enigma, his personal Facebook shows him still building Genoa's last month which were suppose to be sold out, according to his post if emailed he will build them for you.
It also shows him as President of another company.

As a Christian I am also not impressed with his pimping Jesus on that page and essentially stealing from his customers, not cool, not cool at all.

Because I have not received any communication or received my down payment back, so to me he has stolen money from me via fraud.

Maybe you could get all the fraud victims together and rally paypal for a refund under exceptional circumstances. Or get the police involved. I wouldn't really know what to do, but it's horrible to think that someone (who is not anonymous) can get away with fraud.
