Just read the post of Mr. Icarus about the free gifts he's awaiting and got thinking...

Some of you have bought their Omega (or indeed more than one) at an AD. If you received any gifts it might be nice to show them over here, and it will make our friend Icarus dreaming

Hey Wautersjr,

The only free gifts that I have got so far have been the Speedmaster 50th Anniversary book and the Omegamania catalog.

Unfortunately no photos.

Well, some of you may remember I held a charity raffle some time back and I had these gifts kindly dontaed by Swatch UK. A leather bound organiser and a Waterman pen.

And from the WIS community I have received these kind gifts....

From Fr John, the Smurf....

from Bsodmike, the stand, which will be going to someone else after the Christmas post

and from NMGE17 an Omegamania catalogue.

p.s. those that are familiar with more than one forum will recognise these names. I've tried introducing them to WTF but to no avail. Except Fr John. Who was here long before I was.

My meagre collection -

Heaviest of the bunch is the hard cover OMEGAMANIA catalog courtesy of OMEGA UK.

My pin from my pal at the OMEGA Boutique for attending the OMEGAMANIA evening seen here resting on the boxed press information set on the FIftieth Anniversary of the Speedmaster

Maria has sent me occasional material from Bienne and a hot-off-the-press copy of the 2007 catalog

Then there's the goodie bag from OMEGAMANIA London containing catalog, boxed-pen and magazine

and Top of The Pops

- my press accreditation courtesy of an angel at OMEGA UK and how I am warmly welcomed when I pop into Bond Street or speak to anyone there or at OMEGA UK.

I love this company, what they stand for and what they make

Y'all have a nice day pals

FWIW Fergie, yesterday's heavy hand of moderation on that other board that uses the different s/w than this one, is what brought me here. Their thread, wherein criticism was leveled at a service job performed by Omega's Bienne facility, was deemed improper and the thread was criticized and closed. Well, again FWIW, it wasn't out of hand in the slightest and several of the old timers had passed along sage and good advice to the OP. Thou dare not say anything negative about the commercial interests over there.

I have room for two boards per hobby interest, and now it's WUS and WTF!

Thanks Zin. Like that handle. :) Might there be a Cab, Chard, Pinot et al. lurking?

Cheers!

For sure! I had a 1000 bottle cellar back east and moved 600+ bottles when we moved to AZ back in late '89. Without the nice underground cellar here, we drank it up and now buy basically for current consumption, only.

Maybe after the holidays, Zin. Busy now even for a retar...er retiree. :001_tongue:

Sorry about wandering off frequency so much. It's a bad fault of mine. Maybe there's a New Year's resolution implicit in that. :)

Hey I just noticed you have one of those new Co-Axial BAs!!! :thumbup1:
Sure do, Zin. It was my wife's gift to me for our 50th wedding anniversary this last August. What could be better than our 50th anniversary coinciding with Omega's 50th anniversary of the Speedmaster line? The 1957 on the dial is a plus and a constant reminder of that fateful Aug. day in that year.

I do love that watch Roger, it's always a pleasure to see one.

Zin, have you been watching on BBC the Oz Clark and James May's wine programmes. I only managed to capture a few of the episodes from France, but they are travelling through California at the moment. I'm not a wine buff, but I know I like most red's and in particular Chianti. Before I met Mrs Fergie I would never touch a red wine but on one of our first dates, she suggested getting some red wine. A friend who was more knowledgeable on wines recommended an Ernst & Julio Gallo Zinfandel. I think I've had 3 glasses of white since then!

Well Fergie

That was an excellent series and both presenters were certainly wowed by what they found.

Gallo are known for their popular offerings but they do make some excellent wines too. Their single vineyard Zinfandels from Frei Ranch and Barelli Creek to name but a couple are textbook quality :thumbup::thumbup:

You won't see much of that except through specialist stores though.

Have a nice day pal

Thanks for the picture Roger

Now that's three Co-Axial BAs on WTF now. Donny, Alex and you. Wonder how many Speedy pros there are?

Hope you're having a good day

Thats fantastic, a great coincidence.
And a great story, in todays fickle times 50yrs of marriage is something to be applauded. :thumbup1:
