My very first Seiko, my first chronograph, and the first watch I paid more than $100 for. I bought it at Sears in the local shopping mall just prior to 1980.
My wife's Seiko Lassale Centennial from 1981. The signature on the back was done in 14k gold. These weren't sold to the public but were given as gifts by Seiko to preferred vendors and customers.
VERY nice!
You really should have it serviced. It's a fact that the lubricants inside started to deteriorate years ago. And the minor price of a service now will be a fraction of what you'll pay when repairs will be needed.
