Second guessing a recent order I placed for an Invicta Reserve Speedway with 37 jewel automatic. Bought it for a great deal... about $725 shipped, but I'm beginning to wonder if I should pass this one by. For any of you that do not know, this is a top level movement (ETA 2894) within the Invicta Reserve collection and the Speedway design is one of Invicta's most popular. The movement alone sells for about $450 retail, so this would be a great deal on the watch. However, I'm not a big chrono guy. Had one, sold it and haven't gone back that direction.

There's no doubt, the watch would be a very nice addition to my small Invicta collection. But I've had my mouse pointer over the cancel order button several times. Also, it is scheduled to ship in a day or two and I would be charged $15 shipping, plus another $5 or 6 to return it if I decided to return it.

What do you guys think, is this too good a deal to pass up or should I sit this one out?

This is always a tough call, revo. I bought a Speedway Reserve and just didn't like it. The bracelet seemed out of proportion to the size of the case. My own rule of thumb, from the Invicta School of Hard Knocks, if there is ANY doubt, cancel and walk away.

I think that is a great deal, but a great deal is not what is all about. If you are hesitant now, the watch is probably not for you. From experinece I have learned not to buy something just because it is a "good deal".

One thing I've figured out over the years. Don't buy a watch only for the movement. If you bought because of a good deal but are trying to convince your self into liking it, Cancel. If I have doubt after ordering, I go ahead and cancel to save my self money by avoiding a quick resale. If I buy and after a day or two still cannot wait to get it, then I really wanted it. It's a nice watch but, it'll be even heavier than the quartz due to the auto movement. It is very nice looking but a dark MOP dial with dark hands... with features you aren't that fond of.... cancel, save yourself the time and money!

I'm a big chrono fan but when it comes to choosing a new watch, I also believe at "love at first sight". If I'm not drooling about it in the first 10 seconds, then I hit "Cancel" immmmediately

Look at it on the bright side.... If you cancel the order the price will probably drop some more in the next few months... It would be less expensive to pick up in the future if you do decide you really want one

Thanks for all the replies. The consensus is cancel and look for something else down the road. I'll agree; this watch was not on my must haves from Invicta and I think I'd rather wait for something I really want. I'm clicking the "cancel order" button right now. Thanks for the advice. Sometimes we need others to talk us down from the ledge.:thumbup1:

I think you are doing the right thing. Even though it is a super good deal, it is still a good chunk of change. For that much $$ you should be looking out the window for big brown every time you hears something coming down the street. I just purchased a watch I wanted so bad I paid the extra for overnight shipping. I also have a few impulse buys (because they were good deals) gathering dust. On those, I wish I had cancelled when I had the chance. Something else will come along that you will just have to have and because you did not take this one you will have the coins for it. You will be real glad then.

Great and good luck on that future piece that you will not be able to live without!
