I know it is not recommended to set the date on an automatic watch around midnight. The person who traded me his Tissot Le Locle told me not to do it also around noon... whenever the hour hand is near 12. Is this true?

Thanx!

Never heard of noon being a bad time to change the date, just 10 PM to 2 AM. It has to do with the position of the quickset mechanism, not the hour hand's location on the dial. And that's only if you're only changing the date with the quickset. If you're rolling the hands it's never a problem.

To confirm
Best never quick set date between 10.00 and 2.00.
For safety I NEVER do between 9.00 to 3.00
HOWEVER
If watch has other complications then other times MUST be considered.
