I just got my 1963 space view 214, and I have the hour and minute hands set correctly but my second hand is about 40 seconds behind my phones clock which I was trying to set it to. Is there any way to set the second hand, it just kept sweeping when adjusting the other hands.

Only accutrons equipped with a hack spring will stop the second hand. The feature came as standard equipment on the railroad approved watches. Most accutron 214's did not come with the hack spring. Essentially, when the stem is rotated to change the time, the hack spring contacts the tuning fork which stops the watch hands, including the second hand. If you don't have that, the only way to stop the second hand is to unscrew the battery hatch and try to time it just right. See photos to see a spaceview with and without the hack spring.
