Actually I have 3 questions.
1.What year did they introduce SEL.
2.What year did they do away with case holes?
3.What year did they introduce solid center links on the oyster bracelet?

1 - On the steel models SEL was introduced in the early 80s with the Sea-Dweller 16660.
But I think the gold models had it longer than this.

2 - They still have case holes today (Submariner 14060)

The center links have been hollow up until this past year with the Z series. I haven't seen the solid center links on the 16610 yet.

I believe that they did away with the lug holes about 2000 thereabouts.

SELs, not sure. I'll have to look into that one.

I prefer how SEL's look, but i just seem to find non-SEL's more comfortable on my wrist! :confused1:

First SELs on sports models were on the 16660 circa 1981. Generally SELs were coming on line with the rest during the A series.

Non-lug hole cases came about during the Y series, though still used on the 14060M.

What about them? Solid center bracelet links are not used on all Oyster bracelets yet. The Sub, Sea-Dweller, Explorer II, AK...several models still have hollow center links.
