Hello all,
A friend of mine came to me trying to sell what I see as an ooold Datejust. It es a SS/gold model.. Model#1601, serial#2838825.. He is selling for $2500.. To me it sounds hi! Also I noticed it had a saphire crystal fitted odly, since I think it was originally Mica(Plexi).. Also the inside of the bracelete clasp it reads "stainless steel, Rolex, 14K trim, USA"..
Can someone tell me a bit of history on this model... Tipe of gold used, crystal type, date of manufacture, etc???
