Decided to buy a Roamer watch.... Looked for one on e-bay and won a Roamer Popular with a cal MST 372 movement. It has a gold plated case, stainless steel back and a red tip on the seconds hand. " I think it's from the early 1950's and looks all original " I will post pics on this thread when I receive it.

Peter, what a wonderful watch you have there! :thumbup1:
I agree that it looks to be from the early to mid-50s. The dial is barely starting to patina and the case is in fantastic shape. Roamer is a great way to introduce yourself to vintage watches BTW. They're solid performers, prices are still sane (many sell on eBay for under $100 which means they are a relatively undiscovered brand), they have style and class, and still plentiful since, along with the USA, Europe was one of their primary sales targets. European Roamers are always showing up for sale.

To put icing on the cake, Roamer was a true manufacture and those pre-1970 watches had in-house movements.
