The image I'm Posting below is only for reference.

What I'm looking for is a Rolex model from the late 1950s w/ a white dial, lower profile case, gold, non-date. My only reference is an older photo from 1962. Is the watch I'm looking for similar to the one in the photo here, or are there other models I should be researching? (Actually, I'm thinking the case might be a little more rounded, the crown a little smaller: Is there such a thing, in a Precision or another model from this time period?)

Other comments?

Thanks! :thumbup1:

Hey Dell - just a quick comment to say that's a beautiful example! Don't forget that if you're posting a photo that is not your own, it's best to credit the source. :001_smile:
It's my routine to do so, as you know. This is an eBay image, which I'd planned to dump in short order after my inquiry here, but I hesitated to indicate the source because I wasn't sure about potentially "promoting" those Auctions here.

Could you help me w/ Policy on that?

Hey Dell,
When I use an ebay picture I just credit as "Photo Credit - ebay user 12345" That way you're not really promoting the sale page as there's no link. And if someone wants more info on the item or seller they'll have to do some leg work to get it...

Spy photo?

i know, i know, this is really a very bad camera phone photo. will try to find time to get a better one, one that you could actually see. nevertheless, the precision is the one on the upper left hand corner....
No need to apologize; I'm happy to receive the feedback.

Interesting how different it looks from the original piece I asked about (even factoring in that one is a date version).

something like this....?

Hi Dell, so this is my first post, i have recently (ie today) come into the possession of a Rolex Precision which was presented to the husband of a friend of my Grandmother's on his retirement from the Nestle Company London in December of 1961 after 40 years of employment there.

I know this, as it is inscribed on the back!

Below is a picture...(assuming this works!)

i dont know when this model was being made, as i know very little about watches, but its inspired me to know! If anyone can fill me in about anything then please do!!

Jono:

First off, WELCOME TO WTF!!!

Second, Congrats on the acquisition of a stunning timepiece!!!!

Third, the bracelet is very unique, I have not seen one like that before.

Fourth, not an expert by any imagination; but, there are a few options:

1: Wait. Someone will be here soon to help out, though you may have to repost in a few weeks, as everyone is going nuts over Basel.

2: Send a picture to Rolex and ask for information. What country are you in?
