with weak sales of the new models many have asked what the future will bring.

below is a quote from JS about future offerings...

"Fear not.. many new designs are currently being worked on.

Less ornate.
Clean, open dials with TONS of lume.
More greatly tapering bracelets.
Even a dress watch (a true dress watch, not a prettied up sport watch).

The BEAST Variant II concept should launch in late 08.

The Titanium BEAST (original BEAST design) should be out in a few months.

The end of January will mark the next Renato OTV that I think many people will love (yes, ladies too!)

Renato does not focus on just one thing, or one type of collector, but with as long as the lead time is for all of their designs it can take half a year to see a fresh, new model come out. Renato isn't all about GIANT watches, or all about diamonds, but about offering uniquely different watches for all types of collectors.

For those that collect high-end Renatos, the diamond models, solid gold models, and Tourbillon will appeal to you.

For those who collect their great daily-wear watches, you will appreciate the pricepoints on the next BEAST re-design as it will more closely resemble classic BEAST pricing as opposed to the current Cyclops/Stallion pricing.

There will be a Renato for most every type of collector design-wise, and also price-wise as well. There are big things-a-brewin' at Renato."

Good info Koi. I liked the first few offerings from Renato, but their latest designs are simply not my cup of tea. It will be interesting to see what is coming next.
Hopefully they get away from the skeletonized hands. Depending on the dial color, this can be a real problem to see the time.
why do you collect renatos?
i mean, there quartz...
I haven't seen any "small" watches from the brand - unless you count ladies styles.

Koi, is it true DM is making simpler watches due to the rising cost of labor in Indonesia and the falling dollar?

Something amiss with quartz watches????:D

Interesting question there. I like a lot of the older Renato designs such as the Beast, T-Rex and Wildebeast. I could care less it if is a quartz. If I want an automatic, I have plenty. I can always throw on a Breguet or even a Seiko if I need an auto fix.

Quartz is more accurate, requires less maintenance and the watches hold up better in the real world of bumps and grinds. I am not a watch snob and to be honest, I buy what I like regardless of the price. If it a quartz, so be it.

I have 4...2 Beasts, a Wildebeast and a Cyclops. I enjoy wearing them all. One thing that Daniel is right on...You will always have someone commenting on your watch. I had my son with us at Thanksgiving. One night he went to visit some friends. I told him to wear one of the Renato's and tell me how many compliments he gets. It ended up being a "pass around" during dinner. Like them or not, they are fun to wear.
