Okay guys, I need some advice.

As Zin knows, my beloved Speedy has been in the shop for seven weeks now. It's with the Swiss Service Group in Clearwater, Florida. They have been extremely nice and helpful. I got my Tissot Seastar 1000 back and it's working beautifully. Here goes...

Do all Omegas have the red dot paint seal on the back to show it's been factory sealed? When I bought mine from Jared it DID NOT have a red dot.

So now I'm wondering if the watch needed repair and Jared did it and it broke again eight months after I bought it. I've written to Maria at [email protected] tonight and await her answer.

Should I be concerned? :confused1:

Thanks Peeps!

The red seal does come off and having discussed this with several folk on both sides of the counter, it seems to me that the red dot may well be something WISes came up with because believe it or not, none of the dealers I spoke to , who incidentally ought to know, testified to our understanding of the red dot.:confused1:

Whatever answer Maria comes up with should be taken as the final word imho. Bienne after all should know the significance of the red dot.

Now that's thrown the cat amongst the pigeons, hasn't it?:biggrin:

I'll check up further though so we can hopefully, finally unravel the mystery of the red dot.

It's never bothered me as much since it's the plastic sticker on the caseback of a new watch that to me bears indication that the watch was factory fresh.

Y'all have a nice weekend pals :001_smile:

hi MacDaddy,my understanding of the red dot is when the watch is bought new it comes with it to prove that the case back has not been opened after a while it wears off when its been on your rist.not sure if they put one on when it has been in for service, they do put a red line over tag watches so they may renew the dot.hope this helps.mick

I find they stay on even after a scrub with hot soapy water and a toothbrush, I always thought the dot was factory applied and simply means the back has not been off since it left the factory.

Heard somewhere that after a service they put a blue dot on but not 100% sure on that one.

My G4 Speedy was manufactured in 2005, possibly 2004. It has the red dot.
