Hi, I’m new to this forum, also new to the world of watches, but I’m getting very interested in it (sadly lacking the money to really get into it, but one can always dream...)

But for now, I have this old Tag, 2000 series diver watch, supposedly 973.006, but when I search the Web, I cannot find any other one with the 12 marker as a diamond, instead of an upsidown triangle, while also having a monochrome Tag Heuer logo (instead of the classic red and green one).
—> Was this watch rebuilt from multiple components?

Also, is the number engraved on the quartz movement a year indication (in this case, March 1995)? It seems to always be a single digit followed by a double digit, like 88 or 90, years that seem plausible for the watch year of manufacturing.

Thank you in advanced.

Guillaume

TAG's are often counterfeited and I'm questioning the authenticity of that watch. Probably best to take it into a local TAG dealer in the Montreal area and let them confirm.

As for the movement 'serial number' you refer to, that is actually the model number of the ETA movement (955.112) that TAG uses. They are quite common.
