Yep, Scott D has it correct... Since they didn't have it in stock, they will only give me 10% of the new price... The SS Sub is looking very good at this point. But you never know. I may fall in love with the GMT.

Hey Domenic...

Come on man - just get both & be done with it!!!! Problem solved!!!! :thumbup1: :thumbup1:
I just made my buddy happy that bought a Sea Dweller a couple weeks ago :) Anyone think any of these are worth grabbing tonight at the current price? thinking maybe I will be up tomorrow? better than the stock market...
Domenic

I too thought abt the sub and the less expensive price, BUT, life is too short and I said,,

NO

that GMT ll c is gorgeous,, the black ceramic bezel, the maxi dial...

I swear,, I would trade my DD YG before letting the GMT,, well maybe not.

I love them both.

Get the GMT.

Now i understand why the $6200.

There are dealers that have the new GMTs in stock here in FL.

They did yesterday and may have sold them already.

I think I heard second hand Scott that the new GMT ll c was priced higher then the former GMT.

Ok, so lets talk about the Elephant in the room. Its obvious that Rolex is raising prices because of the prolonged imbalance between the $ vs. other currencies. Since it is suicide for Rolex to lower prices, does this mean when the $ gains strength they will raise the prices in other markets?

Are we sure they didn't? Can anyone in Europe or Asia let us know if they had a price increase today? Strong dollar or weak dollar, they still seem to raise prices yearly.. So anyone know if the increase was global?
I was after both the:

GMTII - $5950 and the SeaDweller - $5375.00

I couldn't decide between them so I bought both:blink:

Since they both go up $1000 tomorrow I'm hoping it wasn't a bad move. I did get 10% of the SD on today's prices and $100 off the GMT (best I could find anywhere)

I have to go so my wife can kill me now. It's been nice knowing ya all....
My AD just called me, so I came straight to the forum. All I can say is I love my AD and over the last 4 years he has been right on with the price increases and has saved me a ton of money. Granted I have more than likely bought my last Rolex with the Daytona a couple weeks back, but if I ever buy another, I will no doubt buy from him. Even at retail, I get a 5 yr warranty from them and a Manager that "looks out for me". My last 2 purchases were the GMT IIc at $5950 and the SS Daytona $7900, I almost feel like I won the lottery. Maybe this will appease my wife a little:confused1: knowing I just spent $7900 in order to save $1300. Makes sense to me:thumbup1:

You're in the clear John. My wife tries that argument on me all the time. She just can't understand how buying something unnecessary (even with a great discount) is NOT saving. Of course, the Daytona is a different matter altogether.

Congrats Sabian! All of us in Ohio need to get together sometime. Maybe here in Columbus since it's central. A "guys" night... dinner, drinks, cigars and watches! Let's plan something...

Stay tuned! Mike and I have talked about trying to plan an Ohio Rolex GTG in the Spring/Early Summer.
My own...adjusted...theory in all this as we learn more, is that maybe the gold items were already priced so high that they did not need to be adjusted as much as the steel models, from the Rolex company perspective anyway.

Consider that, even with the old prices, the difference between the relatively slight amount of extra gold that goes into a gold watch band, as opposed to a gold watch on a strap with a gold buckle, still adds around $7,000  to the price, and this starts to make some sense, even taking into account today's rising gold values. Rolex was hardly giving that gold away to begin with, so no need for a big price adjustment. Besides, gold was always on the rise, albeit at a somewhat slower pace, we just talk about it more lately as a recession supposedly looms. Of course, all these conclusions are easier to come to AFTER the new prices have been seen. Hindsight is always twenty-twenty.

Anyways, anyone know what the solid gold sport models go for now? I would love to know exacty what has changed.

The only one's I know for sure are the Yacht-Master II's.. They are around the upper $37K mark. Given they were around $34K, it's still about a 10% increase, maybe a bit less..

Going to the AD in a few minutes.. I'll see if he'll leave me alone with the price list for a few minutes... :cool1:
How much is the Milgauss? Especially the Green Crystal? Thanks!
I sure feel lucky today (March 1). About two weeks ago I got a heads up from my AD about the impending price increase. They were spot on, telling me to look for about a 15% increase beginning 3/1. They notified their good customers about the price hike and offered 10% off all watches in their store, including all Rolexes. I stopped by (naturally) and picked up a new Milgauss (white dial) for 10% off list ($5355). Combine that with a 15% increase, and I saved quite a bit. The MSRP of the Milgauss was $5950. Today the same watch is going for $6842. So I essentially saved $1487. I'm not gloating, just feel lucky to be able to swing the deal at the time.
Just talked to my AD. The prices for the Milgauss is $6,250 for White or Black. $6,525 for the Green Crystal. We both guessed it was so little because Rolex didn't release these until Nov 07, so they had them priced accordingly to when they were released.
I have to say I'm still in shock. That is 4 watches in 14 months! 2 Seamasters (Bond and 2254.50) and now the 2 from yesterday. I have to say I'm looking at the long term on these and I'm tired of "watch"ing the prices go up around me.

A get together sounds great! But I'm gonna be pretty broke for awhile....

Has Rolex ever dropped their prices?
Just got back from a couple AD's and they were both still selling at the old prices. One said they were raising prices tomorrow (Sunday) and the other one said they were raising them on Monday. It's probably good neither of them had an LV to temp me (one of the AD's sold their only one yesterday).
Has Rolex ever dropped their prices?

not sure about 'ever', bt I certainly can't ever recall them going down. IMO it would kill them. So I doubt they'd ever do it.. If anything, they'd just slow production to make up for less demand.
