Just as an FYI, Hamilton sent out a notice this week that list prices will be going up on February 10th. The increasingly weak dollar is definitely taking its toll in imported watches (and other things, of course). It's not an across the board percentage, but here's a few examples of what to expect:

Ventura - now $645, new price $695
Ventura chronograph - now $745, new price $795
Khaki King Auto, metal band - now $445, new price $525
X-WInd, rubber strap - now $995, new price $1395
Jazzmaster Viewmatic 40mm, strap - now $545, new price $625

So there's no time like the present...

Yes, those are the suggested retail prices. That makes it easier to compare. Obviously there are plenty of discounts to be found online.

I am starting to worry a bit. The field chrono that I have on order since the end of December is not yet in stock. If that one has a price increase, that may be a deal breaker.

The cover letter says "Please note that all backorders will be honored with the old prices until March 10th, 2008. Everything shipped after this date will automatically be switched to the new prices." So there's at least a one-month window there.
