I have an original Glashutte Grandfather Clock, but I need information about it. I have seen 1 other on the web but cant find any info about them. THis was bought in Germany, and is clearly an old clock...early 1900's I am guessing. The clock man we bought it from in Frankfurt said it was made before the war in east Germany.

Hi Gruntle, I have a clock that is similar to the one you describe, and I am looking for information on it too. The only source I have found on the web is this article: The History of the Company Karl Wilhelm Höhnel, Glashütte_by_Steffen_Pahlow© The photos on page 13 look similar to my clock.

The outside of mine looks like this:



The inside of the door has this small plate:


And I carefully stuck my camera behind the clockwork and snapped a photo to see if there were any markings and found this:


And lastly the lousy movers managed to break the pendulum:


anybody have advice on how or where to repair it?
