There are several sponsors who can handle the co-axial calibers like the one in your watch. You might want to Google "archer watches" - Al is a member of several forums and is great with modern and vintage Omegas.

Are you sure it was 8 months? Can you tell me the date it was shipped in and the date it was received?Is 8 months to get it back normal?
And to answer you directly, I have sent two watches in to JLC's factory in LeSentier and each took longer than a year.
