TO CELEBRATE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF AMERICA IN SPACE

A special exhibit at Lacy & Co Jewellers featured the OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch, the timepiece selected by NASA for all manned space flights and the only watch to be worn on the Moon.
The event was highlighted by the appearance of astronauts Charlie Duke, Tom Stafford and Space Camp founder Ed Buckbee, who came to El Paso to sign autographs and share their exciting stories of space travel.
2008 marks the 50th Anniversary of America in Space. In honor of this historic occasion, Omega and Lacy & Co. jewelers brought the “Real Space Cowboys” to El Paso, where they made a public appearance at the retailer and shared their extraordinary stories of space travel and hosted a free autograph session that was open to the public.
Later that evening, Omega hosted a VIP reception and panel discussion at the War Eagles Air Museum in Santa Teresa, New Mexico
.
This visit came on the heels of recent events at the U.S. Space and Rocket Museum and was a momentous occasion which gave visitors a chance to hear first-hand stories and view rarely seen video images of space travel focusing on what it was like to walk on the moon.
