HI, I am fairly new to the forum and am looking for some help. I have found a Speedy Pro Gemini IV at a very reputable AD, they are holding it for me, I really like the watch and would love to have it. My question is, should I expect some discount, or pay retail? The watch is BNIB and the salesperson told me that they have 5 in their whole company. Thanks for any help you may give.

I would expect ,at least, some discount.
When I bought my PO in Sept. it was discounted ,as all my AD purchased watches have been, but I did have to work a little harder for it than in the past.

Discounts vary where LEs are concerned. That said most members count on anywhere from 15 to 20% or more, depending on one's relationship with the dealer.

15-30% off MSRP is not uncommon from ADs. I have never paid full boat retail for an Omega. Also, some online dealers sell 'em for up to 40% off, IIRC. I'd ask the AD what's the best deal he/she can give you before dropping your credit card on the glass.

30% is pretty good my friend. Thought I've enjoyed that before it certainly is a rarity on these isles.

And of course as Rafael said earlier, the tax in Brazil is a hefty 60%

I've never been offered more than %8 to %10 off by a local AD.

although I've heard of %30 off, never had the opportunity locally.

Thanks for all the input, my AD will have the watch next week midweek, I am going to see it for the first time in person. I love the pictures I have seen, so if I like in person I will probably buy it as this watch seems pretty hard to come by BNIB from an AD. Oh yes, I will definiately try and work some discount, thanks again to everybody.

Ditto. I have been to a few ADs in New England, and Omegas can be had for 30%. I am sure this varies by region/model; but, Omega does not appear to be a strict with pricing as some other companies.

Well as I hope you have now seen from my recent post announcing the fact that I now have my Gemini IV Speedy Pro. I did get a very good discount from my AD but I do have a very good relationship with him. If you want I can PM you with exactly how much discount I got.

I would always expect discount from an AD on whatever watch I was interested in. I was even offered 10% off the very limited 1957 run of the 50th Anniversary Co-Axial Speedmaster Pro recently.

Also, I would like to say that once you see the Gemini IV LE Speedy Pro you will not be at all disappointed. It is a stunning watch that comes in a great package and I believe that at a limited run of only 2005 you will never loose money on it. A future classic in my, admittedly biased, opinion.
