I could be wrong but i think that dial is toast. It almost looks like the dial has been baked until the finish was damaged. See what others here think?
I wish the camera had been pointing straight down at the watch. I can't tell if it's an OMEGA or an OMKGA,,,this is a new one on me, but bet a Bugatti against a bagel that was NOT how that watch left the factory!
My guess is that it's some kind of a home modification that didn't go exactly as planned!

Hi, I sent the watch in for service and they restored the outer case and replaced the glass, main spring and some other stuff but it is a genuine 1960 Omega Seamaster 600 I also checked the serial with Omega directly and they also confirmed it because I was also unsure as I inherited the watch from my grandpa who passed away. The watch had some rust inside which they repaired but I did not want to change the dial as I like the rustic vintage look of it but I am just wondering what the original Dial looked like or what it is as it looks diffrent from diffrent angles and light.
Possibly the dial was customized by the original / earlier owner? I dont really know.
I hope I'm mistaken, but am I seeing things, or does the dial between the 1 and the 2 look like damaged cardboard or particleboard? If the case's moisture seal ever gets compromised, that dial's gonna be in for a world of hurt!

I don't think you're mistaken. I saw that as well. What ever affected the dial did the same to the hands if you look closely. 🤔

Yes you are correct between 1 and 2, 6 and 7 it has damages not sure because of what, but I did not want to replace the dial as the old vintage look gives the watch character and I will never sell it so don’t mind it.
the watch was serviced and the rest is perfect as per the service report. I am just curious on what the dial variant is called I doubt it was modified as it still has all the original writing on it even the swiss made on the bottom is also still there. I have seen another watch that is similar that they called a chocolate/bronze dial with stardust or something like that…
I found my answer the watch dial was originally black and with the age and seals that where never replaced because ny grandpa did not service it the dial patinaed to a tropical chocolate/copper tone. I’m going to keep it like this I really think it makes it special and gives the watch a one of a kind look what do you guys think ?
I commend your attitude! When you present a group with an item that ''doesn't look normal''. God knows what comments you're gonna get. But it's YOUR watch, not ours, and YOU'RE gonna wear it and not us.
The fact you are satisfied with the watch and wish to keep it in this condition is all that's important.
Wear it in good health, and congratulations.
