Congrats

Congratulations on your pending purchase! For a dressier watch I'd go for the black face, for more casual, yachty watch I'd go for the blue face. Keep us posted with photos and your decision! Congrats!:001_smile::)

Hello all,

This thursday I'm travelling to Miami to buy my new M series TT sub(before price increase). Need suggestions on dial color and if it's a good choice for a steel and gold watch!!!

Ed:lol:
sounds like a fun and exciting time for you.....you cant go wrong with either choice. i own both the s/s sub as well as the t/t blue dial and i enjoy them both. i use to be a bit uncomfortable with the t/t blue since it is a bit flashy but i think it was all in my head, lol! it gets the most wear out of all the watches i presently own. my advice would be to just purchase whatever smiles at you the most and you cant go wrong. take care and have fun!
aloha,
brian

Hey guys my dealer also said he had the option of the SS/gold GMT IIc for me, what do you think??
ED
Try 'em both on and see which one you like better. Personally, the only TT Rolex (or any watch) I like is the TT Sub (blue, as stated above).
Sounds like a fun time awaits you. Let us know what you decided to get...and don't forget to post a pic so we can all oggle over it.:001_smile:

This is good advice - I own a TT Sub but I have to admit I was darn impressed with the GMT IIc in TT when I reviewed it.

Yeah, I'm a GMT-IIc fan all the way, but in TT form it doesn't sing to me the way that Blue TT Sub does. I personally think it is as classy as the black. Also, while the future is uncertain, if you ever think you might want that electric blue, the TT Sub is the only way to get it.

Hey guys, is there any reason as to why TT subs do'nt have solid(gold) middle links? Also does the fact that the 3135 movement doesn't have parachrom blue hairspring make it any less in performance or value??

Hey guys, i would also like to know how much of the bezel on the TT sub is solid 18Kt gold ie..the metal insert that goes on the inside of the outer gold ring(where the numbers are painted in yellow and the rest is black)..is that metal plate gold??

Well Ed, the 16613 hasn't changed a whole bunch since it was introduced in 1988 - it certainly had the same movement and hollow center links. The GMT IIc is far newer and has some upgrades, like the parachrom mainspring and bracelet improvements.

New Sub!

Hello all,

I finally got back from my three day trip to Miami....I got my new "M" series TT sub with black dial and inner bezel engraving(at old price $7850). Mayors Dadeland had two in existance, one on display and on in the vault with all the plastic stickers and bezel protective ring....Of course I got the one from the vault! I must say that even with my recent GMT IIc purchase and all the hype with that new model, the sub is still a stunning watch to look at...it's an oldie but a true classic that still makes me stare in awe.
PS I'll try to send pics but I need a simple step by step procedure!

Ed:lol:
