OMEGA MISSION HILLS WORLD CUP

OMEGA celebrates its status as the title sponsor of one of the oldest and most prestigious global golf team events with the launch of the Double Eagle Co-Axial Chronograph “OMEGA Mission Hills World Cup”. The Swiss brand’s commitment to the world of golf has resulted in a 12-year sponsorship of the World Cup of golf to be played at the challenging Mission Hills Golf Club in China. Golf enthusiasts will identify the Double Eagle as that very rare accomplishment requiring a hole to be played in three strokes under par, a feat of similar skill to the superior workmanship encapsulated in this sporty timepiece. Powered by OMEGA’s exclusive Calibre 3313 complete with a Co-Axial escapement, these self-winding Double Eagle Co-Axial Chronographs provide unparalleled performance for sportsmen who understand the value of precision matched with power. The highly tactile aesthetics of these 41mm watches are achieved by contrasting surface finishes, a stunning carbon patterned dial and black rubber coated features making them a perfect ally for outdoor sports.

Available in either 18-carat brushed red gold or titanium with a brushed finish, the case of the Double Eagle Co-Axial Chronograph is a bold combination of classic Constellation features and contemporary design strategies including the incorporation of black rubber. True to its family heritage, these chronographs display the iconic asymmetric “claws” or “griffes” of the Constellation Line that were first introduced in 1982.

On the 18-carat red gold version, the bezel is lacquer-coated, while the crown and pushers are in brushed red gold. Red gold Roman numerals are surrounded by the glossy lacquer of the bezel making a daring design statement and the red gold crown displays the OMEGA logo.

On the titanium model, in keeping with the watch’s sporty appeal and in dramatic contrast to the sleek brushed finish of the case, the bezel, crown and pushers have been coated with black rubber. The bezel features steel Roman numerals and in the same way, the rubber coated crown displays the OMEGA logo, a technical achievement and a world premier.

In both models, the highly original dial, with its black carbon patterned texture is achieved through a PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) treatment and provides a bold backdrop for the 12-hour and 30-minute sub-dials forming an eye-catching figure of eight. A third sub-dial, a discreet small seconds counter is found at 9 o’clock and a date window has been placed between 4 and 5 o’clock.

The hour markers, the OMEGA logo and hallmark Constellation Star have all been facetted and satin brushed for additional depth and dimension. The Dauphine style hands are facetted and also satin brushed, truncated and perfectly visible in the dark thanks to Super-LumiNova inserts. For optimum daytime readings, even in the most compromising light conditions, the gently domed scratch-proof sapphire crystal protecting the dial has been given an anti-reflective treatment on both sides. OMEGA is honoured to sponsor this world-class golfing event and has etched the words “OMEGA Mission Hills World Cup” and the logo on the screw-in case back of both the titanium and red gold models of this special series.

The Double Eagle Co-Axial Chronographs are an eloquent testimonial of OMEGA’s commitment as title sponsor of the “OMEGA Mission Hills World Cup” and of the international golf world represented by OMEGA golf ambassadors Michelle Wie, Ernie Els and Sergio García.

Hey Pals

Here are a couple of new official additions to Omega's lineup.

A new De Ville Olympic Timeless Chronograph

and the Speedy Pro Chocolate Dial

Data - omegawatches.com

No JPGs in the press room yet guys so we'll wait on that one.

There's a new Beijing Olympics Collection as well but they're primarily Connie 95s which again lends weight to reports that Connies have a bigger market in Asia.

The Beijing Olympic Collection

For the 23rd time in its history Omega will be Official Timekeeper to the Olympic Games in 2008. One year ahead of the Opening Ceremony a special collection of watches was unveiled for distribution in China and certain selected Omega stores worldwide.

The Beijing Olympic Collection was launched on 8 August this year with the Constellation limited edition. With its four distinctive claws the Omega Constellation is instantly recognisable and one of the best-selling watches in the world. Its appeal is universal: it has been often spotted on the wrist of Mikhail Gorbachev and its popularity was further reinforced in 1995 when it became “Cindy Crawford’s Choice”. The Constellation has since found favour in cinema and sport through actress Nicole Kidman and golfer Sergio Garcia.

The Constellation launch is the first of six limited edition Omega launches, each timed to coincide with a particular date during the run-up to the Olympic Games. Every watch in each collection will be presented in a special box with certificate and will have the Beijing 2008 official logo stamped on the caseback.

To further reinforce a special relationship with the Olympic Games that dates back to Los Angeles 1932 when Omega first became Official Timekeeper, each model will feature either the five Olympic Rings on the seconds hand or coloured stones representing the colours of the Olympic Rings.

Thus the Constellation Ladies model, with 22.5mm case and white mother-of-pearl dial, features blue and yellow sapphires at 10 and 11 o’clock respectively; at 12 o’clock there is a black diamond; at one o’clock an emerald; and at two o’clock a ruby. The remaining hour markers are set with white diamonds and the watch is available in 18 carat yellow gold, red gold or bi-colour gold and stainless steel.

The Gentleman’s Constellation, with the Olympic Rings on the seconds hand, has a 35.5mm diameter and a sun-brushed finish starting from the applied star. It comes in 18 carat yellow gold, red gold or bi-colour gold and stainless steel and is equipped with an automatic chronometer movement.

Playing on the number eight - the Chinese lucky number as well as the opening date of the Olympic Games (08.08.2008) - the limited production numbers for each model are either 888 or 2008, and the No8 theme is repeated throughout the six product launches. The second launch will mark 288 days to go to the Games, then it will be 188 days, 88 days and eight days. The sixth and final launch will be a limited edition of 88 pieces for each of the 17 days of the Olympic Games.

OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean Co-Axial
Red Gold Collection
Model Ref - 222.63.46.50.01.001

The highly successful and sporty Seamaster Planet Ocean originally introduced in 2005 takes an elegant turn with the arrival of a new, Red Gold Collection. The use of this warm hue of gold in the 2007 Planet Ocean adds refinement to the long list of characteristics of this professional divers’ watch. Conceived as an evolution of the 1957 Seamaster 300 model, this version of the Planet Ocean Co-Axial is the first to be made in red gold.

The 2005 Seamaster Planet Ocean Co-Axial first caught the watch world’s attention with the option of distinctive bold orange details on the dial and the bezel. The following year, its popularity was such that OMEGA introduced a second collection of column-wheel chronographs. Today, the family has grown to include a Red Gold Collection.

The Seamaster family is a core range of OMEGA’s watch making heritage and its sportiest member. Associated with the seas for over 50 years and a favourite of outstanding sportsmen and women such as Michael Phelps and Ellen MacArthur, the Seamaster is a watch fit to match the most demanding maritime challenge. Characteristic details include a robust, waterproof case and a uni-directional bezel. We are reminded of the Planet Ocean’s design origins by the Seamaster’s traditional Seahorse medallion stamped on the screw-in 18-carat red gold case back, the uni-directional bezel, smooth link bracelet and easy to read dial.

The automatic version is available in a 42mm or 45.5mm case while the more complex automatic chronograph model is presented in a 45.5mm case. Both versions offer characteristics well beyond the requisites of a professional divers’ watch and are water resistant to 600 metres/2000 feet. Other features that distinguish these professional divers’ instruments are the screw-in crown and screw-in case back, the Helium Escape Valve, the fluted uni-directional rotating bezel and the highly visible hands.

Positioned at 10 o’clock and embossed with the chemical symbol for helium “He”, the red gold helium escape valve allows any trapped atoms of this gas that might damage the watch to escape when expansion occurs during decompression in a diving bell. The chronograph push buttons, made of red gold and decorated with a black aluminium ring, are functional to 600 metres/2000 feet while the domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal has received an anti-reflective treatment on both sides for optimum clarity.

Previously only available with a sporty matte dial, the Red Gold Collection is offered with a new elegant and glamourous semi-matte black dial enhanced by a red gold Omega logo. The applied red gold luminous hour markers are combined with Arabic numerals placed at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. The date window is positioned between 4 and 5 o’clock on the chronograph’s dial while on the other models it is found at 3 o’clock. To complement the red gold facetted arrowhead hour, minute and seconds hands, white Super-LumiNova replaces the more common green material.

In the case of the chronograph, the sub dials for small seconds, 12 hours and thirty minute totalizers are placed at nine, six and three o’clock respectively and feature applied golden surrounds. The black aluminium 60 minute track ring on the uni-directional rotating bezel also features red gold details.

The chronograph version is fitted with the caliber 3313, a self-winding mechanical movement with a power reserve of 52 hours. The column-wheel mechanism serves to perfect the chronograph’s performance. It ensures a smooth start to the sweep of the seconds hand when the chronograph is activated and provides precision stop and reset functions that do not interfere with the main timekeeping of the watch.

The non-chronograph versions are fitted with the caliber 2500 and all the Planet Ocean Red Gold Collection features the Co-Axial escapement, proprietary OMEGA technology, that considerably reduces friction in the heart of the watch mechanism and offers improved long-term reliability and accuracy. Both calibres are COSC-certified chronometers and further improved by a free-sprung balance. Although the new models have a solid case back, the rhodium-plated movements have been given a luxurious finish: the bridges are decorated with attractive circular graining, Geneva waves and gold-plated engravings. The final flourish is a Seahorse medallion that decorates the screw-in case back.

All three variants (45.5mm automatic chronograph and automatic, and the 42 mm automatic) are available on a comfortable brushed red gold OMEGA patented “screw and pin” bracelet with polished sides or a handsome integrated black alligator strap that sits seamlessly alongside the case offering increased comfort and aesthetics. The foldover safety clasp is fastened onto the wrist with an easy to use release mechanism.

SPEEDMASTER BROAD ARROW IN RED GOLD AND STAINLESS STEEL
MODEL REF - 321.90.42.50.13.001

OMEGA’s launch of the Speedmaster Broad Arrow will appeal to today’s discerning watch buyer in search of luxury, precision and a legendary family name encapsulated in one timepiece. OMEGA’s latest Speedmaster Broad Arrow pays homage to its distinguished Speedmaster family line with its iconic “Broad Arrow” hands but, with a movement upgrade and luxurious details, it enters a new dimension and category of mechanical superiority and artistry. Fitted with OMEGA’s exclusive Calibre 3313, this self-winding movement is equipped with the Co-Axial escapement offering even greater reliability and accuracy. In tune with the sophisticated nature of this timepiece, the case and bracelet have been crafted in a choice of metals including a stunning combination of 18-carat red gold and stainless steel. Embellishing the three gold models of the watch even further is the innovative “screw and pin” bracelet, an ingenious system for the rapid adjustment of the length of the bracelet.

The year 1957 was a groundbreaking one for OMEGA. The original Speedmaster - celebrating its 50th anniversary this year - formed a trio of OMEGA débuts along with the Railmaster and the Seamaster 300. All three watches were high-precision timepieces designed for professional assignments and offered similar performance and aesthetic features with black dials, very robust cases and stainless steel bracelets. This year’s model has inherited some characteristic traits of the Speedmaster line with its distinct arrowhead hands, curved and facetted horns and tachymeter scale on the bezel, but it has been reinterpreted in opulent materials and details.

All three versions of the dial, in sleek black, elegant silver and rich, chocolate brown display the timekeeping and chronograph features in high style. The hallmark “Broad Arrow” hands have been facetted, polished and coated with Super-LumiNova for improved aesthetics and legibility. The wide baton hour markers and the OMEGA logo at 12 o’clock have been applied to the dial creating a greater sense of depth and dimension. To embellish and highlight the chronograph functions, the counters have a contrasting outer ring, matching the material of the case and dials. In the case of the silver dial model the hands and the hour markers are made of blued steel; in the black dial version these features have been applied in rhodium and in the brown, black and silver version, the dial is enhanced with golden hands, outer ring and hour markers.

The Speedmaster Broad Arrow boasts the latest advances in watch technology and has been fitted with OMEGA’s exclusive Calibre 3313. At the heart of the self-winding movement is the Co-Axial escapement that considerably reduces friction in the mechanical watch movement, lessens the need for lubrication and in turn offers improved long-term reliability and accuracy. Pioneered by OMEGA in 1999, the Co-Axial escapement represents one of the most important advances in watch making and was first introduced in OMEGA’s De Ville range. The column wheel chronograph mechanism of this timepiece is designed to ensure a smooth start to the sweep of the seconds hand when the chronograph is activated and precision stop and reset functions. The Speedmaster Broad Arrow has a power reserve of 52 hours, a convenient date window at 6 o’clock and has been officially certified as a chronometer by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres, the COSC.

The 42 mm case of the Broad Arrow is available in a variety of metals: in sumptuous 18-carat red gold, 18-carat yellow gold, a dramatic combination of stainless steel and 18-carat red gold and more traditional stainless steel. The case has been beautifully polished and brushed and the special double gaskets on the crown and chronograph pushers ensure water resistance to 100 metres/330 ft. The resilient sapphire crystal case back protects and reveals the superlative Co-Axial 3313 movement and the dial is afforded maximum resilience with a domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment.

A novelty of the red gold, yellow gold and combination stainless steel and red gold models of the Speedmaster Broad Arrow is the OMEGA patented “screw and pin” bracelet. Changing the links of the bracelet to suit your wrist size has never been easier with OMEGA’s ingenious system of discreet screws. Not only does this confer greater flexibility, it actually improves the aesthetics of the bracelet. The bracelet is fully integrated into the case forming a highly fluid, ergonomic and harmonious line that follows the contours of the wrist perfectly. Available in red gold, yellow gold and in combination red gold and stainless steel, it all fits with a matching safety clasp. The links of the bracelet are beautifully wrought and have been brushed and polished for additional texture and contrast giving this watch a unique finish. Inspired by the first solid link bracelet of the 1960’s, the more traditional stainless steel version of the Speedmaster Broad Arrow is fitted with a classic stainless steel bracelet and a foldover clasp.

And for watch lovers who prefer the feel and look of a leather strap, there is a choice of a brown calfskin strap for the stainless steel model and a brown alligator strap for the yellow gold model, both with their corresponding stainless steel or yellow gold foldover clasps. The red gold watch can be customised with a black alligator leather strap with its red gold foldover clasp and the impressive stainless steel and red gold version also comes with a brown alligator strap with a stainless steel foldover clasp and OMEGA’s distinctive logo in red gold.

OMEGA Salutes the Quarter Century Milestone of
THE CONSTELLATION 95
Model Ref - 1160.60.00

OMEGA celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Constellation timepiece launched in 1982; the model that would introduce the novel “griffes” or claws on the bezel that have since become a dominant Constellation family trait. The launch of three splendid dress watches for ladies and gentlemen makes manifest the celebratory mood at OMEGA with their generous sprinkling of diamonds and superior workmanship and movements. Keeping abreast of changing trends, the anniversary watches are crafted in warm 18-carat red gold and feature a contemporary rich brown PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) dial. Three stellar newcomers that will carry the highly successful and best-selling Constellation line to a brilliant future.

The original Constellation line was first released in 1952. The name chosen for this range and the observatory medallion featured on the caseback were references to OMEGA’s impeccable performance in timekeeping competitions held in European observatories. Here was a self-winding chronometer that offered unprecedented precision coupled with refined styling. Since then, the extensive Constellation family has positioned itself as one of the most successful dress watches in the world. In 1982, designers Carol Didisheim and Pierre-André Aellen introduced the “claws” on the Manhattan model that would become one of the most salient features of Constellation watches.

The soft rounded lines of the Constellation ’95 “25 Years” are classic Constellation and accentuate the watch’s volume and elegant profile. The cases and bracelets have been crafted in luxurious brushed 18-carat red gold, the fashionable metal of choice for this season. Paying homage to its lineage, the 35.5 mm gents’ model carries the distinctive Constellation black Roman numerals on the bezel and the decorative claws. The claws on the ladies’ watch hug a bezel that has been richly paved with diamonds; available in two sizes, the 25.5 mm ladies’ watch sparkles with 38 diamonds on the bezel, the smaller proportioned 22.5 mm model has 30.

Responding to today’s latest fashion tenets, OMEGA’s designers have chosen a contemporary brown surface for the dial. This lustrous, rich dial has been achieved through a PVD treatment. Enhancing the dial, subtle rays of light radiate from the Constellation star plated in red gold and applied just above 6 o’clock. This fascinating shimmering effect that brings the dial to life is the result of sun-brushing. The dial is protected by a domed, scratch-resistant sapphire glass crystal with anti-reflective treatment on the inside.

For a touch of class, 11 diamond indices on the gentleman’s watch mark the passing hours. A highly visible date window has been applied at 3 o’clock as has the distinctive OMEGA logo just below 12 o’clock, both details plated with red gold in keeping with the case. The Dauphine hour, minute and seconds hands have also been plated in red gold and facetted. Powered by OMEGA’s exclusive and proprietary Calibre 1120, the self-winding gentleman’s watch has an official COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres) certification as a chronometer and a power reserve of 44 hours.

The ladies’ version of this anniversary timepiece has been embellished with 12 diamond hour markers and carries an applied OMEGA logo and Constellation star in red gold plate. With facetted and gold plated Dauphine hour and minute hands, this scintillating jewel beats to an exclusive OMEGA Calibre 1456 quartz movement with a battery life of 32 months.

The supple, fully integrated horizontal link bracelet, crafted in brushed 18-carat red gold, fits comfortably on the wrist and is secured by a foldover clasp. The gentleman’s watch is water-resistant to 50 metres and the women’s watch to 30 metres and both have the Observatory medallion stamped on the snapped on caseback.

OMEGA Fine Leather Goods Collection

Tuesday 11 December 2007

OMEGA is proud to launch the Fine Leather Goods Collection, a luxurious new proposal for OMEGA enthusiasts available exclusively through its international flagship boutiques. The exacting standards of craftsmanship, design and superior materials that characterize OMEGA’s watchmaking tradition have found a new expression in these sumptuous leather goods. This contemporary collection of leather goods allows you to manage your appointments, money, credit cards and personal belongings in classic OMEGA style. Handcrafted in beautifully supple Italian calfskin leather by the world’s foremost leather artisans, the goods are as beautiful as they are practical seducing the eye and the touch.

As can be expected from a brand renowned for its meticulous attention to detail, the choice of leather was a fundamental consideration and an Italian tannery was selected to provide OMEGA with the finest quality calfskin available on the market. In addition to its warm appealing texture, calf leather is renowned for its suppleness making it the material of choice for high-end leather goods.

The collection has been crafted from top grain or full grain leather taken from the top of the hide. Top grain leather has the advantage of revealing the naturally occurring ‘grain’ or ‘flower’ which lesser quality leathers can only achieve by artificially embossing or plastic coating the material.

An expert eye will appreciate the smooth finish of the borders, the result of ‘double edge folding’ a complicated and labour-intensive technique that ensures a uniform thickness on the final edge. OMEGA is extremely proud to feature this technique in the collection: a delicate process in which the edges of each panel are thinned down so that when the panels are folded, the final edge presents clean refined lines. Stitching together the parts is yet another crucial phase and is executed entirely by hand.

The superior workmanship that characterizes the collection was entrusted to the finest leather craftsmen in Italy and all the goods bear the ‘Made in Italy’ hallmark.

OMEGA’s new Fine Leather Goods Collection is available in three fashionable colours developed exclusively for OMEGA: black, brown and an eye-catching orange. The vivid orange was inspired by OMEGA’s Planet Ocean range of watches and the iconic orange colour that distinguishes this extremely successful line. For additional contrast, the black calfskin models feature brown stitching and the brown models have anthracite coloured stitching.

All the wallets in the collection incorporate an exclusive and innovative design feature adding a dimension of practicality and visually distinguishing them from any other wallet on the market. The external part of the wallets feature a very convenient slot –registered design by OMEGA- allowing you to store a parking ticket that you do not want to misplace, a credit card that you need to have on hand, a business card or a hotel room key card. This salient design feature is also found inside the wallets with their wide and very conspicuous credit card slots that replace the slim conventional credit card slots found on ordinary wallets. In addition to making a bold and exclusive OMEGA design statement, the slots reveal the contrasting lining. For reinforced durability, each slot has been hand stitched.

The Messenger Bag is a triumph of aesthetic minimalism with its pure, sleek lines coupled with ample storage capacity to transport your personal belongings in veritable style. The smaller City Bag with its external zip proves an ideal companion to carry travel documents and, like the Messenger Bag, has been fitted with OMEGA’s innovative and eminently practical slot that runs along the internal side of the bag. The wide, ergonomic strap that has been fitted on both bags bears a satin brushed, anti-allergenic palladium clasp with the OMEGA logo that actually keeps the strap flat against the body and in place. And for an additional touch of class, the OMEGA name and logo have been sewn in relief along the strap.

OMEGA’s characteristic attention to detail is applied to other features of the collection including the use of top quality Swiss made zippers. The ladies’ purse with its contemporary and stylish external zipper reveals two roomy sections and a zippered safety pocket for valuable items or change.

To keep track of your appointments OMEGA proposes the practical and extremely handsome organizer or agenda where the superior craftsmanship behind the ‘double edge folding’ is evident. Like the wallet, the organizer also carries the wide slots identifying it as an exclusive OMEGA creation.

And for OMEGA watch collectors there are also two models of storage box to protect 3 or 6 watches, together with a cube shaped watch winder.

Fine Jewellery - Sedna

Tuesday 11 December 2007

Stars are a theme entwined in Omega’s history, particularly the successful Constellation watch and jewellery line, and so it is fitting that Sedna, is the name of a jewellery line inspired by the heavens.

Sedna was NASA’s answer to the riddle of “what is bigger than an asteroid, smaller than a planet, red all over and far, far away?”. It is, in fact, the most distant known object in our solar system – some 8 billion miles (13 billion kilometres) away from Earth. This mysterious name for an equally mysterious object is perfect for the jewellery line: not only does it tie in well with Omega’s unique history in the field of space travel but it also links back to the stars found on the back of the famous Constellation watch.

(FJ01_Sedna)

The latest addition to the Sedna collection is the Volans (or Piscis Volans in Latin) the name of a group of heavenly bodies with mythical connotations made up of six stars. Also known as the “flying fish” the name is attributed to the fact that the stars vaguely resemble the shape of a flying fish or perhaps because sailors originally claimed to see flying fish when the constellation was visible.

The Sedna Volans rings, available in either 18-carat yellow or white gold, represent the six stars of the Piscis Volans constellation. Twinkling diamonds are set into the centre of the six stars and encircle the finger with delicate bands of gold.

The Sedna Volans pendant, available in yellow or white gold, is a more faithful representation of the six-star constellation, and like the ring each gold star is set with diamonds of varying sizes. The cluster of stars appears to float, suspended from a fluid 18-carat gold supple adjustable chain.

(FJ02_Sedna)

The 18 k yellow gold Solitaire Sedna ring brings the mystery of the constellations to your finger with a diamond set in a five point star shape and reminds of the solitary far away planet.

Fine Jewellery - Aqua

THE AQUA COLLECTION

Tuesday 11 December 2007

The Aqua collection is inspired by motifs from OMEGA’s renowned Seamaster watch collection. This range of watches has been closely linked to the sea and all things maritime for over 50 years. As the name Aqua suggests, the fluid sensuality of the sea and water-inspired shapes are the common theme in this line of jewellery.

(FJ01 Aqua)

OMEGA’s Aqua Collection introduces a new line called Wave, a highly sophisticated and vanguard interpretation of the elusive motion of the sea. The Wave line brings a dimension of sculpture and movement to jewellery and captures the undulating essence of the sea and the rolling motion of waves in its overlapping ribbons of gold featured on the ring, pendant and earrings.

The six rippling ribbons of gold that weave a deep band around the finger are available in 18-carat yellow gold, 18-carat white gold and a stunning three-tone combination of yellow, white and red gold. To complement your look, earrings have been created following the sensual, swirling lines of the ring but slightly smaller in size. Like the ring, the earrings are presented in 18-carat white gold, in 18-carat yellow gold and in the three-tone variation.

(FJO2 Aqua)

The Seahorse line of fine jewellery has taken the classic seahorse figure embossed on the back of the Seamaster watch as inspiration in its novel and bold Seahorse rings. The most salient features of the seahorse shape have been reinterpreted in contemporary and highly conceptual design lines giving life to the seahorse’s sinuous and flexible forms.

The characteristic ‘jointed armour’ of the seahorse’s body has been interpreted in this ring in five graduated concave forms that arch gently around the finger. OMEGA’s classic attention to detail is apparent as you run your finger over the wavy, honed ridges or the diamond encrusted curve and appreciate its flawless, smooth surface.

The Seahorse collection has been crafted in highly polished 18-carat yellow, white and red gold and is available with or without a sprinkling of diamonds. The diamond-set version comes to life with the sparkle of 63 pavé diamonds (0.45 carat) that embellish the wide, central sweep of the seahorse’s tail. The simple version makes for an ideal daytime ring with its high design appeal and the pavé version will escort you in style through the night.

(FJ03 Aqua)

Pendants on a satin cord make a beautiful gift and add instant chic to any outfit. All Aqua pendants can be worn with a choice of four different colour satin cords (black, beige, pink and blue) with matching 18-carat gold tips and are knotted at the neck. The choice of different colour cords allows you to coordinate your pendant with your outfits and see you through the seasons.

(FJ04 Aqua)

Three versions of the pendant are available in both small and large sizes that play with combinations of different colour gold and diamonds. The diamond-set small pendant adds a discreet sparkle and glamour while the larger pendant in yellow, red and white 18-carat gold is a warm combination of metals and captures the season’s trend for pared down, all metal designs that showcase the striking aesthetics of Aqua’s water-inspired forms. For the complete look, matching sets of rings and pendants are available.

(FJ05 Aqua)

Omega offers a choice of nine Aqua rings in different golds, with or without diamonds and in three different widths. This variety of models makes the Aqua ring suitable for many occasions. The large diamond set version could well mark a special anniversary or even an engagement while the smaller versions are ideal wedding rings.

The three and two gold versions are a pure design statement, relying on nothing but the interplay of the lustre of different golds and the seductive shapes of the waves. All rings have the Omega name and symbol etched along the top edge.

Fine Jewellery - Griffes

THE GRIFFES COLLECTION

Tuesday 11 December 2007

Based on the Constellation, the world’s top-selling women’s watch collection, the Griffes range of jewellery evokes the famous four claws that clasp the bezel to the watch. In the Griffes jewellery line, the characteristic claws are used as interlinking elements in rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

(FJ01 Griffes)

The Puppy Love charm bracelet in 18-carat yellow gold (also available in white gold) is a fun way to wear four of the charms in the range. This bracelet made up of chunky links decorated with a double ridge has an easy to use and secure clasp that allows the wearer to adjust the fit of the bracelet.

The classic seahorse charm inspired by the emblem on the back of the Seamaster diver’s watch has the Omega logo dangling from its neck and a single diamond eye. Keeping him company are three more little creatures whose bodies are cleverly made up of the Omega symbol. First is the teddy bear charm with two blue sapphire eyes twinkling out from his happy face; alongside him, the comical frog charm waves his hands in the air and his diamond-set eyes to convey an infectious sense of happiness. Next is the puppy charm himself with a bright diamond eye, a little black diamond on his nose and his very own little bone hanging from his neck.

(FJ02 Griffes)

The diamond set Wedding ring, available in both white and yellow gold, has a contemporary air reminiscent of the clean symmetrical lines of the Griffes collection. A row of Top Wesselton diamonds of fine clarity appears to float between the two bands of gold and completely encircle the ring, showing off Omega’s sophisticated diamond setting techniques. The simple design of the ring means that it can either be worn on its own or stacked with another ring making it a versatile and very wearable piece of jewellery with a profound and enduring significance.

(FJ03 Griffes)

The pièce de résistance among the Griffes collection is an 18-carat white gold piece set with a total of 50 diamonds and clamped together by two slightly offset claws set with 18 diamonds, framing a resplendent 0.8 carat diamond Solitaire.

Fine Jewellery - Omegamania

THE OMEGAMANIA COLLECTION

Tuesday 11 December 2007

The Omegamania range takes its inspiration from the Greek symbol Ω, from which the company takes its name. The last letter of the Greek alphabet stands for accomplishment, eternity and perfection – qualities admirably reflected by the jewellery bearing its name.

The Double Symbole ring exploits this association, as an elegant, diamond-encrusted piece which literally embodies the last letter of the Greek alphabet. The 18-carat yellow, white or red gold arcs of the magnificent Double Symbole ring open out into a diamond-encrusted Omega shape that is the hallmark of the line. The outer edge of the wider arc is engraved “My Choice”, linking the piece to the famous “My Choice” Constellation watches.

The Symbole ring, available in white or yellow gold and in two different widths, exploits this association, as an elegant, diamond-encrusted piece which literally embodies the last letter of the Greek alphabet. The outer edge of the ring is engraved “My Choice”, linking the piece to the famous “My Choice” Constellation watches.

(FJ03 Omegamania and FJ04 Omegamania)

The Omegamania ‘I Love You’ ring is a unique way to declare those three magic words. This domed 18-carat white gold ring delivers a special message of love. By fusing the values of OMEGA’s hallmark symbol and a loving heart shape, this stunning jewellery piece is capable of transmitting values of accomplishment, eternity, perfection and devotion.
The Omegamania ‘I Love You’ ring is a modern and original way to declare your love. Fashioned out of polished 18-carat white gold, the entire ring pays homage to love, and its symbol, the heart. The structure of the dome shaped ring is made up of dozens of profiles of hearts that form the body of the piece.
At the apex of the dome sit two symbols: a heart interlaced with an upside down Omega symbol, set with a total of 39 diamonds, representing “I Love U” surrounded by black or white enamel. Another version which delivers a special diamond and ruby message of love is the ring where at the apex of the dome a heart set with 19 rubies interlaced with an upside down Omega symbol, set with 20 diamonds, represent “I  U”. A sophisticated piece of jewellery that speaks of to the exquisite craftsmanship involved in the structure. The ‘I Love You’ ring is a mesmerising way to declare your feelings to that special person or as a touching reminder of your constant devotion.

(FJ05 Omegamania)

The special Omegamania/Heart pendant is an original way to say, “I love you”. A plump rose gold heart set with single diamond dangles playfully from a lariat-style necklace, the chain of which runs through the centre of the white gold Omega symbol. This unique necklace is the perfect way to wear your love close to your heart every day.

(FJ06 Omegamania)

The emphasis on this special ring was to add a playful element to its design. This is achieved with an original ring which has a separate ring inside that rotates independently. The outer ring in yellow or white gold has two shapes hollowed out on opposing sides: an Omega symbol and a heart. The inner ring has one section of red enamel and one of six diamonds set in the same place as the hollows on the outer ring, so that the wearer can literally play with it to change the two possible configurations to suit her personal taste.

Constellation Quadrella Mini High Jewellery

QUADRELLA MINI HIGH JEWELLERY

Red Gold Version
The Brightest Star in the Constellation

OMEGA introduces the brightest new star of the Constellation family with the scintillating Quadrella Mini High Jewellery timepiece. Sprinkled with a lavish dose of 1,724 diamonds beautifully displayed in a unique snow setting, the Quadrella sparkles with a light all of its own. This sumptuous and extremely feminine newcomer, with its warm red gold case and mesmerizing 10.18 carats worth of diamonds, radiates the status of its owner whose love of refinement and artistry are encapsulated in this miniature horological jewel.

Measuring a dainty 25.30 x 19.30, this mini marvel displays hallmark features of OMEGA’s classic Constellation family with central claws or “griffes” and its bracelet with horizontal links that blends harmoniously with the case. Introduced in 2004, the Quadrella range joined the high-end Constellation lineage proposing a curvaceous, “tonneau” or barrel-shaped case, reminiscent of Art Deco styling.

Entirely crafted in polished 18-carat red gold, this new star glistens with a blanket of diamonds in an exclusive and unique snow setting. The snow setting plays on variations of diameter to achieve the effect of snowflakes that generously cover the case, the dial and the bracelet. The diamonds have been set with such skill that the surface of the watch is smooth and soft to the touch. Even the characteristic Constellation claws that hug the case, enlarged for the occasion, have a sprinkling of 15 snow set diamond on each claw. No detail has been overlooked and even the diminutive crown is encircled by the precious stone.

Against this diamond-encrusted canvas, OMEGA’s designers have created a sublime dial with wavy patterns evocative of the sun’s rays or the markers of a sundial. To mark the passing hours, Roman numerals, so distinctive of the Constellation range, have been applied in 18-carat red gold at III, VI, IX and XII o’clock although two of the quarter numerals are slightly smaller in size. The remaining hour markers are represented by 8 diamond indices. The dial features elegant 18-carat red gold “feuille” shaped hour and minute hands that have been diamond polished in keeping with the refined standards of this watch.

The 18-carat red gold horizontal link bracelet is embellished with 1,384 snow set diamonds. The joint bars that separate each link and their sleek polished surface create a pleasing visual contrast in this galaxy of twinkling diamonds.

The dial and precision OMEGA Calibre 1376 quartz movement of the Quadrella are protected by a domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. Identifying this precious watch, the OMEGA logo and name have been etched on the inside of the sapphire glass.

Like other Quadrella models, the High Jewellery watch has a battery life of 32 months and is water resistant up to 30 metres. True to its Constellation origins, the caseback is engraved with the “Observatory Medallion” that alludes to OMEGA’s ongoing association with astronomy and space discovery and the name of the watch, Quadrella

The workmanship that has gone into making this refined ‘mini’ timepiece is extraordinary and, as befits such a luxurious creation, the Quadrella is available only upon request.

De Ville X-2 Co-axial Chronograph

Monday 03 December 2007

OMEGA DE VILLE X-2 CO-AXIAL CHRONOGRAPH

The Handsome De Ville X2 Co-Axial Incorporates Chronograph Functions

OMEGA’s superlative De Ville line is proud to announce the release of its latest X2 Co-Axial Chronograph: an exciting newcomer that follows in the steps of its successful square-shaped predecessor featuring the incorporation of chronograph functions. This happy marriage of X2 aesthetics and De Ville Chronoscope mechanics is a sight to behold. Adopting the bold design cues from the 1951 Cosmic that was re-launched as a limited edition Museum Piece, the self-winding X2 is presented in an enlarged 18-carat red gold or stainless steel case that houses the handsome dial with its retro feel and oversized features. Powering the heart of this formidable chronograph is OMEGA’s exclusive Calibre 3202 in this winning rendition of sporting performance and imposing presence.

Designers at OMEGA have enlarged the size of the X2 by two millimeters to house the new movement in a very conspicuous square-shaped case. Measuring 37 mm x 37 mm, the new X2 Co-Axial Chronograph is available in two versions: in opulent brushed and polished 18-carat red gold or sleek stainless steel.

In order to manipulate the chronograph functions, the polished symmetric rectangular pushers, reminiscent of ingots, have been placed on either side of the crown. The bezel on the 18-carat red gold model, in contrast to the lugs, has been vertically brushed. The craftsmanship is all too apparent in this superior timepiece made patent in the care that has gone into the smallest details such as the facetted triangular-shaped lugs that have been brushed and polished in keeping with the case. The luxury finish of the watch is protected by the screwed caseback that has a slight curve to sit on the wrist and has been vertically brushed and stamped with the De Ville medallion, and engraved with the words “X2” and “Co-Axial Escapement”.

The eye-catching dial of the chronograph showcases the audaciously large Roman X2 juxtaposed with Arabic numerals featured on the sub dials that lend the watch its name. The lustrous black-brown dial, achieved through a PVD (physical vapour deposition) on the red gold watch has benefited from the same technology to create the dial of its close family member, the De Ville Chronoscope. In keeping with the aesthetics of the stainless steel model, the dial is available in contrasting black or cool silver.

Like the former X2 model, the new X2 features a white painted Railway minute track with elongated white indices but, in a departure from its predecessor, the 8 hour indexes have been facetted and applied in 18-carat red gold for heightened contrast. In the case of the stainless steel model, the hour indexes have been facetted, applied and plated with rhodium or ruthenium.

The chronograph sub dials are the same as those featured on the prestigious De Ville Co-Axial Chronoscope with a 30-minute recorder set at 3 o’clock, an ingenious 12-hour counter with a double arc window set at 6 o’clock and a continuous seconds counter at 9 o’clock. The highly visible and legible counters feature applied Arabic numerals for precision chronograph readings and have a rhodium plated central chronograph and counter hands. In pride of place, the applied OMEGA logo and company name sits just under the imposing X2 at 12 o’clock.

To ensure accurate reading in even the most compromising light conditions, the Alpha hour and minute hands of the new X2 Co-Axial Chronograph have been coated with SuperLuminova. Exemplary of the level of detail, the hands on the 18-carat red gold model have been fashioned in the noble metal and polished and facetted. Those on the stainless steel watch are polished and facetted in plated rhodium or ruthenium. A domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides protects the precious dial.

Fitted with an exclusive Calibre 3202, the self-winding chronograph benefits from OMEGA’s revolutionary and proprietary Co-Axial Escapement technology, a column wheel mechanism and a free sprung balance. The Co-Axial Escapement considerably reduces sliding friction in the escapement and offers improved long-term reliability and accuracy. It represents one of the most important advances in watch making over the last 250 years and was first introduced in OMEGA’s De Ville range. Column-wheel chronographs are widely recognized as the finest movements available and the column-wheel system is designed to ensure a smooth start to the sweep of the seconds hand. It also provides precision stop and reset functions that do not interfere with the main timekeeping function of the watch when the chronograph is activated. The OMEGA free sprung-balance is used in conjunction with the Co-Axial Escapement and is far less sensitive to shock-deformations. The regulating stability is thus improved and guaranteed over time.

With its official Swiss chronometer-testing institute certification (COSC) for accuracy and reliability, a 52-hour power reserve and water resistant to 50 m, this X2 Co-Axial Chronograph is presented with an elegant and fully integrated alligator leather strap. Available in brown alligator with black stitching, black alligator or a distressed brown-beige alligator strap, all three models have a brushed foldover clasp to match the metal of your choice.

De Ville Hour Vision Annual Calendar - Limited Series

OMEGA Presents
De Ville Hour Vision Annual Calendar - Limited Series

Tuesday 15 January 2008

The De Ville Hour Vision Annual Calendar is the refined result of 160 years of experience in the art of making mechanical watches. At the heart of the Hour Vision Annual Calendar, manufactured in-house by the Swiss luxury and prestige watch brand, is the exclusive OMEGA Calibre 8611, a further development of the OMEGA Calibre 8500/8501, the new generation of OMEGA Manufacture Calibers first introduced with Hour Vision at the outset of 2007. Like the 8500/8501, the OMEGA 8611 is a high-precision COSC-certified chronometer, featuring the additional functionality of an instantaneous jump annual calendar complication. This annual calendar automatically recognizes months with 30 and 31 days and, assuming that the watch is always running, needs to be manually corrected only once a year, on March 1st. The date and month are displayed in separate apertures.

The new De Ville Hour Vision Annual Calendar, available at the beginning of 2008 in a Limited Series of 160 pieces, is based on advanced co-axial technology exclusive to OMEGA: the innovative co-axial escapement and free-sprung balance guarantee stable accuracy and extended reliability over time. A virtuoso 13-line movement with 18-carat red gold rotor and balance bridge, the OMEGA 8611 has two barrels ensuring an impressive 55-hour power reserve and a bi-directional self-winding mechanism. The intricate beauty of the mechanism is echoed in the luxurious decorative finish, as fine black screws complement the delicate Geneva stripes presented with an arabesque pattern, a world premiere.

OMEGA’s rich heritage and unparalleled experience in the manufacture of mechanical watches is expressed in every feature, beginning with the polished 18-carat white gold case, a remarkable feat of engineering that enhances the visibility of the meticulously-crafted movement through four lateral openings in sapphire crystal. The elegant sunbrushed black dial features a grooved rhodium plated hour track with a brushed and polished finish and the words “Annual Calendar” at 12 o’clock and the white-on-black month and date window framed in faceted satin-brushed 18-carat red gold at 3 o’clock. The elegant, faceted 18-carat red gold hour markers and the red gold “parform” hour and minute hands and central seconds hand also feature a satin-brushed finish, and the red gold offers a striking contrast to the white gold case, black dial and matt black alligator strap with its white gold foldover clasp. Water-resistant to 100 m (330 ft), the case back of the De Ville Annual Calendar Limited Series bears the Limited Series number (0/160) along with the inscriptions Hour Vision and Annual Calendar. This exclusive timepiece is presented in a wooden box fitted with four lateral windows through which the watch is visible, echoing the four sapphire lateral openings in the watch case itself.

The De Ville Hour Vision Annual Calendar Limited Series will be complemented at the end of 2008 by a global collection of eight models, four in red gold and four in stainless steel, all with dials identical in design to that of the Limited Series. The steel models will be offered with silver or grey dials and a steel bracelet or black alligator leather strap. The red gold models will be available with silver or brown dials and a red gold bracelet or brown alligator leather strap.

Swiss luxury watchmaker OMEGA presents the third phase of its Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Collection with two Limited Edition Seamaster Aqua Terra Chronographs. The timing of the launch continues the "lucky number 8" theme of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Collection: 2 February 2008 represents "Minus 188" days until the Opening Ceremony. The first Limited Edition watches were presented 8 August 2007, one year prior to the Opening Ceremony. The launch of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Collection followed at Minus 288 days - 25 October 2007 - and reaches its third stage on 2 February 2008, at Minus 188 days.

A further Limited Edition collection will be released at Minus 88 days, and 8 August 2008 will see the initial release of the Seamaster XXIX Limited Edition, set to continue with a new limited edition watch bearing each day's date throughout the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.

The launch of the Seamaster Aqua Terra Chronograph Limited Editions presents one of OMEGA's most popular Seamasters in models that combine 18-carat red gold and stainless steel. Limited to 2008 pieces each, both models feature the five coloured rings of the Olympic Games logo, which form the counterweight of the central chronograph seconds hand.

Seamaster Aqua Terra Chronograph Limited Editions
These Beijing Aqua Terra Chronograph models feature a striking black dial with opaline silver totalizers. The 30 minute totalizer at 3 o'clock, 12-hour totalizer and date window at 6 o'clock and the small seconds counter at 9 o'clock. The polished stainless steel caseback is stamped with the Beijing 2008 Olympic logo and engraved with the Limited Edition number (1/2008). The caseback logo and the coloured rings on the chronograph seconds hand highlight OMEGA's continuing role as Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games.

The heart of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Collection's Seamaster Aqua Terra Chronograph is the exclusive OMEGA calibre 3301 self-winding chronograph movement. With its 52-hour power reserve, official chronometer certification and column-wheel chronograph mechanism, this calibre is also fitted with OMEGA's proprietary free-sprung balance, which ensures the stability of the watch's performance over long periods of use. Both Aqua Terra Chronograph models have a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides and are water-resistant to 150 meters/500 feet.

OMEGA and the Olympic Games
