OMEGA Fine Leather Goods Collection

Tuesday 11 December 2007

OMEGA is proud to launch the Fine Leather Goods Collection, a luxurious new proposal for OMEGA enthusiasts available exclusively through its international flagship boutiques. The exacting standards of craftsmanship, design and superior materials that characterize OMEGA’s watchmaking tradition have found a new expression in these sumptuous leather goods. This contemporary collection of leather goods allows you to manage your appointments, money, credit cards and personal belongings in classic OMEGA style. Handcrafted in beautifully supple Italian calfskin leather by the world’s foremost leather artisans, the goods are as beautiful as they are practical seducing the eye and the touch.

As can be expected from a brand renowned for its meticulous attention to detail, the choice of leather was a fundamental consideration and an Italian tannery was selected to provide OMEGA with the finest quality calfskin available on the market. In addition to its warm appealing texture, calf leather is renowned for its suppleness making it the material of choice for high-end leather goods.

The collection has been crafted from top grain or full grain leather taken from the top of the hide. Top grain leather has the advantage of revealing the naturally occurring ‘grain’ or ‘flower’ which lesser quality leathers can only achieve by artificially embossing or plastic coating the material.

An expert eye will appreciate the smooth finish of the borders, the result of ‘double edge folding’ a complicated and labour-intensive technique that ensures a uniform thickness on the final edge. OMEGA is extremely proud to feature this technique in the collection: a delicate process in which the edges of each panel are thinned down so that when the panels are folded, the final edge presents clean refined lines. Stitching together the parts is yet another crucial phase and is executed entirely by hand.

The superior workmanship that characterizes the collection was entrusted to the finest leather craftsmen in Italy and all the goods bear the ‘Made in Italy’ hallmark.

OMEGA’s new Fine Leather Goods Collection is available in three fashionable colours developed exclusively for OMEGA: black, brown and an eye-catching orange. The vivid orange was inspired by OMEGA’s Planet Ocean range of watches and the iconic orange colour that distinguishes this extremely successful line. For additional contrast, the black calfskin models feature brown stitching and the brown models have anthracite coloured stitching.

All the wallets in the collection incorporate an exclusive and innovative design feature adding a dimension of practicality and visually distinguishing them from any other wallet on the market. The external part of the wallets feature a very convenient slot –registered design by OMEGA- allowing you to store a parking ticket that you do not want to misplace, a credit card that you need to have on hand, a business card or a hotel room key card. This salient design feature is also found inside the wallets with their wide and very conspicuous credit card slots that replace the slim conventional credit card slots found on ordinary wallets. In addition to making a bold and exclusive OMEGA design statement, the slots reveal the contrasting lining. For reinforced durability, each slot has been hand stitched.

The Messenger Bag is a triumph of aesthetic minimalism with its pure, sleek lines coupled with ample storage capacity to transport your personal belongings in veritable style. The smaller City Bag with its external zip proves an ideal companion to carry travel documents and, like the Messenger Bag, has been fitted with OMEGA’s innovative and eminently practical slot that runs along the internal side of the bag. The wide, ergonomic strap that has been fitted on both bags bears a satin brushed, anti-allergenic palladium clasp with the OMEGA logo that actually keeps the strap flat against the body and in place. And for an additional touch of class, the OMEGA name and logo have been sewn in relief along the strap.

OMEGA’s characteristic attention to detail is applied to other features of the collection including the use of top quality Swiss made zippers. The ladies’ purse with its contemporary and stylish external zipper reveals two roomy sections and a zippered safety pocket for valuable items or change.

To keep track of your appointments OMEGA proposes the practical and extremely handsome organizer or agenda where the superior craftsmanship behind the ‘double edge folding’ is evident. Like the wallet, the organizer also carries the wide slots identifying it as an exclusive OMEGA creation.

And for OMEGA watch collectors there are also two models of storage box to protect 3 or 6 watches, together with a cube shaped watch winder.

Hmmmm......How do WIS feel about this? Is Omega branching out to something outside of their norm, or is this acceptable? Is Omega doing this, or OEMing this with permission to use their name. Just curious...

Well Time

The way I see it, Omega make a luxury product just like LVMH for instance and there is of course the watch case and winder. Sadly no picture is available for the winder..... yet.

But look at it from a positive point of view. You may buy Mrs Time a Sedna pendant and in return you could find a winder and wallet in your Christmas stocking ;)

Enjoy your day pal

I like that organizer, wouldn't mind to have one of those...:thumbup1:
I'd have to see that watch box in the flesh. At the minute it's really not doing it for me. Maybe it's because, phycologically, I'm depressed at the thought of not having enough Omegas to fill it.
I like the calendar folder; but, I would remove the calendar and use it as a notebook. Very nice.

Good Gee Jaay

You can use it to plan your Omega purchases.

Remember it's an Omega organizer so you can only use it to plan your strategy at buying Omegas :thumbup1:

Be well now

I'm fine that Omega is now making other luxury goods, aside from watches. However, I don't want kids growning up and thinking that Omega is a luxury goods producer.
Some cool stuff... :drool::drool::drool:

I love that storage box in brown...
Hey Zin,

Oh dear, why oh why are Omega doing this? :confused1:

I get the watch winder and the storage box, but whats with the leather goods? I could just about understand some of the jewellery but what next? Omega eau de toilette, or cigarettes? Ferrari has made a complete mockery of itself by selling out on all that horrible merchandising. As have Porsche. The Porsche name can be seen on everything from deodorant, Adidas shoes, mobile phones and even electric kettles. I only want to see Porsche wrote on the arse end of their cars and maybe down the side on the RS models. If I had the money to waste on expensive, er I mean luxury, leather goods, then I'll go to an established maker such as Alfred Dunhill. I really want some of their driving gloves for when I ever get a decent car to wear them in

Omega, stick to what you are good at. Watches! And bring back Anna Kournikova!!!!
Well Time

Hi, I have been looking, but cannot find where these can be bought. Does anyone know?

Thanks:confused1:
Several other brands make similar items. Search the Rolex forum and you'll find pictures of a few of the pieces they make including a wallet.
