Hi everyone I am new to Omega watch buying and wanted to purchase a vintage watch and have therefore purchased an Omega automatic De Ville cal 1012 circa 1973 number 162 0063 this the one with the date at the 6 o'clock position.
Seems very clean and matched it against the Omega database, what's the thoughts on this watch is it a good introduction into the world of Omega?

Regards
Kevin

I have attached the original photo's of the watch purchased not the best but gives you an idea will post better when it arrives.

Hi Kevin

Welcome to the forum. I own a few 60's Omega's but don't know the one you are talking about. Perhaps you can put a few pictures so we can get an idea of what it looks like. I do think it is a good introduction to Omega as my first Omega's were vintage and soon bought a few modern Seamasters.

Here's on of my mine

Hi Kevin,

Welcome to WTF and the world of vintage Omegas! It sounds as though you did a good amount of research before making your purchase, so good for you. As for what you bought, any pictures you can supply us with will go a long way in helping you out with any questions you may have regarding things like condition and authenticity. The watch you bought is a nice way to get your vintage feet wet. The 1012 was the non-chronometer successor to Omega's amazing caliber 5xx, so it isn't the best but it isn't exactly a slouch either.

We're looking forward to seeing pics of it when you receive it. Congrats!:thumbup1:
