Hi all,
more than rumors say that at Basel 2008 Rolex will present the new Explorer II, that will use the same new GMT-C case, bracelet & clasp, and maxi dial with a fixed S/S bezel.

As you said it´s only a rumor. Wait till April and you´ll get the answer.
They may come up with a green 24hrs hand for explorer that is being used in new GMTIIc.
haha well he mentioned more than rumours.......... so whatever....
I wonder if they will ever go ceramic with the Pepsi Bezel?
I love the pre-BaselWorld speculation season. It has started early this year!

It isn't a stretch to see the Exp II with the thicker case, improved clasp, and maxi dial. All the bits are available.

Assuming there would be no ceramic bezel, I'd like to see them reprise a 2008 "Steve McQueen" with an Orange 24hr hand. That would be excellent!

P.S. I hope that the bezel will not be polished ...

Thanks Hannes, I would really like it this way ... I hope that they will return to use the RED for the GMT hand ...

About this time last year i got a lovely Rolex brochure sent from my AD with a preview of the Baselworld 2007 watches, it contained all the watches shown on the Rolex website under the 'new creations' banner. It was instrumental in my getting a new Air-King.
I may see if my AD has any such thing this year, rest assured any info i come up with, WTF will be the first place it goes!

Great Paul,
we remain waiting for your news, in particular for what concerns the Explorer II and the GMT-C (with coloured bezels ???) !!!!!

Thanks,

Engi
Am I the only one who thinks that old Explorer II is perfect, and it doesn't need any "improvements"? ;)

Hannes' photography, as always, is great. The speculation is great fun, but sparse and tentative.
There is probably better advance information about the President's forthcoming speech or the DOD's next fighter jet technology than what changes rolex will introduce next.
I read John's review of the GMT IIc (was very impressed w/ the changes) looked at it and bought one. Now I've been wanting a new Dweller for some time, but can't bring myself to buy one without the new GMT IIc style bracelte and clasp.
But..... when will these changes (improvements) be incorporated on the new Dweller.
You'd think some industrial insider, spy type would have some information to leak!
Please!
I'm already on BP medicine. All I want is a Dweller with the decent bracelet and clasp that it shoud have had years ago.

Tempus Fugit,

Trainer.

Thanks for the welcome! :thumbup::001_tongue:
Phenomenal photography Hannes.

I think the security at Rolex must be better than that at the Pentagon!
You'd think that someone at Rolex could be "bought". There's got to be a mole there somewhere.
Everyone has their price!

Has anyone heard any speculation regarding the possibility of an updated SD bracelet and clasp?

I recently purchased a new GMT IIc and, like most, am really impressed with what has been done with the clasp. The "drilled" links are far superior (IMHO) to the folded metal ones as well.

I've got my heart set on the SD as my next acquisition, but really want to hold out for the "improvements". Hopefully I'll live to see them.
