Just picked this one up yesterday after visiting my AD and seeing it sitting among a group of preowend watches traded in for new ones. The cal 89 is the workhorse classic calibre from Schaffhausen having been in constant production from 1946 to 1976. This is simply the most elegant RG dress watch of its generation. Hope you enjoy the photos. I asked the AD to open the case today so we can enjoy the movement in all its glory.

@boscoe,

It is not a portofino. In the era it was manufactured it was referred to as cal 89, I don't even think it had a reference number. It does have a similarity to the simplicity of the Portofino, I agree.
