This was my grandfather's...

I have browsed through the Hamilton catalogs from the late 40's and all the way through the 50's and I can't identify this exact watch. I've found similar models, but not this exact one.

I can take more photos tonight - this was the only photo I had with me here at work.

It looks like a Vincent to me... Somewhat popular model with very distinctive cross-over lugs... Should be in the catalogs (search the very late 1930's to early 40's... maybe '39 to '41), so I think you were searching a decade too late.

By the way, it should have a Hamilton 980 movement in it.

Very nice watch!
