I heard from our Swiss plant yesterday that they are not going to be able to meet the November deadline. I have asked them for a reasonable timeframe when they will be ready and still waiting for a response. Once I receive it I will update the store with a new expected date.
I'm curious if anyone has seen any updates? It's been a month since the above was posted with the promise to update the store with new expected dates. Yet, every email i send, every facebook question i ask, every visit to the web page and no updates and ZERO response. How long does it take for the Swiss to give a response on when they will be completed?
I'm trying to be patient, really am and i knew the risks when i sent in my deposit. But as a customer who made a pre investment of funds, i also think i should be entitled to decent customer service and be kept in the loop on when i can expect the product i made an early committment to.
Jeff...
I can only say that I have talked with Curtis and have faith that this deal will be done...I also feel your pain as far as "what's up with my money?"
I can't say what each of us that have put up a deposit should do, but I think in the end it will work out...because I purchased a bangin' sharkskin strap to put on my "Cumulus" and it won't work on anything else!!
This is coming from a diehard pessimist who is trying to be optimistic on this deal!
Heilong, you waiting on the 300 or the Bronze M's? M53 for me... To your point, with small makers like a Lum-tec or Stolas in this case, they just don't have the pull of other companies. When Omega sets a date for release, they have a lot more pull and control being they are making almost all of the items in house, and those that are sourced are priority for their vendors I'm sure. Don't know who in Switzerland is making these, but to use a generic example, if the maker is also a source for Breitling, or Tag, guess who's order will get fulfilled first? :tongue_smilie:jdodig: I currently have 4 watches pre-ordered, including a Stolas. 3 of them are "late"; the Lum Tec by 2 months so far, the Olivier by 7 months now, & the Stolas by 4 months & counting (the Hexa seems to be pretty much on schedule). It seems to be very common--the "delivery date" is only a guess, so shouldn't be taken too strictly. As far as the communication, it also seems to be hit-or-miss. No news = ....well, no news. I share your frustration, but it's just going to be a waiting game & hope the watches are worth it. My perspective is that things that are rushed out to meet pre-established deadlines are far more likely to have issues and/or problems than something that ships when it's done right. If you keep that in mind, it might help mitigate the wait. At least, that's what I keep telling myself.
Hmmm, I own the same shark strap which is sitting unused at the moment, I have too many straps, I went strap crazy this year. You have to post pic when you get your watch I may just duplicate your look at no extra cost at this point:biggrin:Jeff...

Yeah well I have just seen too many larger companies gobble up good companies, ruin them, break them up, sell them off, kill supply, all for profit, absolutely destroying a good thing the smaller company had going with it's customer base. The sales reps and service reps for these smaller companies either all leave or are let go, and the service goes into the toilet. It's sad, then you realize their intent was not to grow their business, so much as to kill fair competition, and increase their profits. In other words corporate greed. And who suffers in the end, the dealers/distributors and ultimately consumers.Patrick: Yup, a 300M. Got the shipping notice the other day. And you're right on the money about who gets priority. Blue_Lume: Hope you didn't get ticked at what I posted on that other forum about ETA...wasn't trolling; like I said, just offering a different opinion. I understand & respect yours completely. Still friends? :001_unsure:
Other than you blue fetish, I think we have similar watch tastes :001_tt2: I too have a bronze lum-tec on order, now looking at prob march or april... and also looking at a cobalt chromium. Hoping they go with a CNC cut out sandwich type dial on those.Very disappointing I agree.
But now I am looking at 2013 as a great years for new watches, I have 2 delayed, 1 Stolas and one Bronze Lumtec, with most likely one other from the new lineup coming out shortly, Cobalt Chromium.
And I may just buy one of those pink type Stolas's for a certain lady as well next year.
My like for the color blue is really obvious, here is this picture that makes my day, and confirms your post.Other than you blue fetish, I think we have similar watch tastes :001_tt2:
