Quick question for all of you.

On the outer ring of many Montblanc casebacks there is a four digit number - in this case, it is 7069. I have also seen 7050, 7070, etc.

This particular watch, marked 7069 is being sold as Ref. 09668. I do not see that 09668 reference number on the case.

So - what does the 7069 represent? Or does it represent the reference number and this listing had a typo?

Thank you!

It may be the 7069th watch from that series, or maybe the 7069th watch the company produced that year. Do all the watches of that model have that number on it?

We asked Montblanc. Here is their response:

"On the back of your Montblanc Timewalker Chronograph case is a technical reference number that refers to the movement of your time writing device. It is not identical with the model number, as you have observed correctly. The number 7069 is used by Montblanc internally to identify the clockwork."
